2017-18 Fantasy Premier League Rankings

on

Welcome to the 2017-18 Fantasy Premier League Rankings. Each week I will be updating the rankings based on how I expect each player to perform the rest of the season. I will also be giving notes to the changes that occurred in the rankings from the previous week.

Back in week twenty-three, we learned quite a few crucial things. United looked back to their best with a solid 2-0 win over Everton, with Lingard yet again performing. City looked as creative potent as ever despite an injured De Bruyne and Jesus. Speaking of turnarounds, Moyes has revitalized West Ham and picked up seven points and three clean sheets on the bounce against Chelsea, Arsenal, and recently Stoke. Perhaps Moysie can do it on a rainy night in stoke.

Mourinho confirmed Bailly’s injury is long-term, with an estimated return in February. Valencia was subbed off against West Brom due to hamstring issues but is cleared to play. Ramsey is sidelined at least until early January. Pogba returns this week from a three-match ban, with Doucoure back next week.

Based on the results, a few players have now massively changed ranks. West Ham secured a third consecutive clean sheet, meaning all starters went up at least five spots. Spurs defense looked far off the pace against City, and each starter is down at least three spots. Smalling, Lindelof, and Rojo all rose at least six spots due to Bailly’s confirmed injury.

Salah is simply on fire, he’s the current top scorer at fourteen already earning him the top spot. Mooy and Lanzini had great weeks, earning 15 points apiece and a significant boost in rank.  Countinho is up to third in midfielder rankings due to a string of consistent goal contributions, including a goal and an assist this week. Lingard scored again, and he appears to be a starter at least for the time being, earning him a ten spot bump.

When aging, sluggish, bench warming Rooney returned to Merseyside, he was expected to sell shirts and nothing more, but boy is he proving the country wrong. With six goals and three assists in five games, Rooney is by far in the best form of any FPL striker, especially considering how inconsistent the likes of Kane and Morata have been recently. He is up to second in our rankings, while out of form options like Aguero and Morata have dropped spots.

Updates are weekly on Wednesday nights.

Be sure you return every week to check out the updates to the 2017-18 Fantasy Premier League Rankings. Also, don’t miss the rest of the Premier League content.
