2017 Fantasy Football Week 1 Rankings

The preseason is over. All your Fantasy Football draft preparation is done. You have drafted your Fantasy Football teams and NFL Week 1 is here. Week 1 is usually fairly simple to set your lineups. I go by the strategy that you start who you drafted the highest… most of the time. Of course, we can’t always do that, with injuries and some players you drafted being so close in ranks that the matchup will matter in that case. This is where the 2017 Fantasy Football Week 1 Rankings come in.

2017 Fantasy Football Week 1 Rankings

Each week I will be giving some notes for things you will want to keep an eye on as the week progresses. It will be mostly injury related, but anything that could affect the rankings, that we know about, will be mentioned. Then you can come back and review the rankings as lineup lock get closer.

  • Ezekiel Elliott is playing after the NFL upheld his suspension, but too late in the week for it to take effect. You will see him ranked very high this week.
  • Keep an eye on Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall. They are both are dealing with injuries and could miss Week 1. OBJ is more likely not to suit up.
  • Jordan Matthews is still not cleared to practice and could miss Week 1. (update: he will start)
  • John Ross is not likely to play, which bumps Brandon LaFell up a bit.
  • Demaryius Thomas is dealing with a groin injury and is still sidelined. (update: practiced Wednesday)
  • With Hurricane Irma about to make landfall in Florida, the Dolphins-Bucs game will not be played in Florida. No decision has been made if it will be postponed or moved. (update: postponed to Week 11)
