Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire Moves

on

By: Joe Bond

Week 3 is over and now its time to consider who you want to pick up off your waiver wire.  This week I’m not overly excited about any of these pickups except the running backs but if you need help then these are the top guys on my list.

QB

Shaun Hill (Det) – This is a must pickup for those owners who have Matthew Stafford.  It seems very unlikely that Stafford will be able to go this week and in that case Hill is a great play against a suspect Minnesota secondary.

Jake Locker (Ten) – Locker was a good fantasy quarterback at the end of last season when he got his chances.  This season started rough but now that he has both Nate Washington and Kenny Britt back things may be turning around for him, at least for one start it did.  He is worth picking up as a back up in standard leagues.

RB
Tashard Choice (Buf) – I’m expecting this to be the most popular pickup of the week with C.J. Spiller getting injured this week and Fred Jackson not expected to return.  This is an offense that uses the running back a lot and Choice proved he can get the job done gaining 90 yards on 20 carries this past Sunday.

Mikel LeShoure (Det) – I had him listed as my others to consider last week and if Choice isn’t the most popular pick up LeShoure will be.  He is already owned in 36% of leagues so he might not be available in yours but after Sunday’s game he definitely won’t be after tomorrow.

Others to consider: Lamar Miller (Mia), Daryl Richardson (StL), Andre Brown (NYG)

WR
Ramses Barden (NYG ) – Barden is risky pick up because when both Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz are playing he probably won’t see much action.  But with the game he had this weekend with Nicks out he needs to be owned, because if either of those two miss another game he immediately becomes a must play.

Donnie Avery (Ind) – With Austin Collie now out the rest of the season with a ruptured patella tendon, Avery becomes the number two option in Indianapolis.  You’ll have to deal with the ups and downs of Andrew Luck during his rookie season but its clear this team is going to pass a lot so that means a lot of chances are there for Avery.

Others to consider: Brian Hartline (Mia), Kevin Walter (Hou), Jeremy Kerley (NYJ)

TE
I’m not going to go into depth on any of these guys because I have already discussed them in past articles but if any of them are available in your league they should not be by this point, especially with bye weeks looming.  I would pick them up in the order I have them listed as well.

Martellus Bennett (NYG), Dennis Pitta (Bal), Heath Miller (Pit)
