2017-18 Fantasy Basketball Week 14 Waiver Wire

Welcome to the 2017-18 Fantasy Basketball Week 14 Waiver Wire.

Surprise! We have hit the halfway point of the season. I know it seems like that is the All-Star break, but in reality it is now. We are going to start seeing teams from this point moving forward starting to look to the younger players on their rosters as they fall out of contention.

You will also see more and more teams resting their star players. This can be true if they have tired legs or if it one of the games in a back-to-back set.

In this week’s post, I recommend that you pick up a couple of these types of players now before the rest of your league figures it out.

All players mentioned are owned in 50% or less of Yahoo leagues.

Yogi Ferrell, PG/SG, Dallas Mavericks

Another bad team looking toward the future is the Mavericks.

Two games ago they started Ferrell in the second half and he blew up for 15/8/4. He then got to start the last game and played great again, scoring 22 points with seven 3-pointers.

The Mavs and Rick Carlisle need to find a way to keep Ferrell in the lineup more and so should you.

De’Aaron Fox, PG, Sacramento Kings

Fox needs to be owned in way more leagues than he is. Since returning from his injury he has averaged 15 points, six assists and over a steal a game. He won’t blow up from beyond the arc, but he will contribute there too.

The Kings are bad so there really is no reason for them to not play Fox a lot the rest of the season to see what they have with him.

Denzel Valentine, SG/SF, Chicago Bulls

Valentine returns to this article for a second time this season. Afer the first time he was on here, he played well for a couple of weeks, but then went into a slump.

He is back to playing well again. Scoring in double-digits in five of his last six games. He is also contributing nicely in rebounds, assists, threes and steals during this time making him a very well rounded player.

Pick him up and hope the run continues.

Delon Wright, PG/SG, Toronto Raptors

Early this past week Kyle Lowry hit the floor hard and has been ruled out the next couple of games at least with a bruised tailbone and back spasms.

In moves Delon Wright. He will start while Lowry is out.

In the first game without Lowry, Wright scored 13 with seven rebounds and four assists. The second game you can ignore since the Raptors blew out the Cavs and sat their starters very early.

The one thing I take from the second game is just how much potential Fred VanVleet has in this league as he scored a cool 22 in that game.

Still, Wright is the one you want to own in redraft leagues since he the one starting.
