2017 Fantasy Football Week 12 Start-Sit

The Fantasy trade deadline is approaching and teams are starting to construct their rosters for that final playoff push, making those tough lineup decisions that much more important. This week is a big holiday week with multiple games on Thursday meaning owners need to make their tough start and sit decisions sooner in the week.

To help you out, here is the 2017 Fantasy Football Week 12 Start-Sit preview.

2017 Fantasy Football Week 12 Start-Sit

Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins vs New York Giants

Cousins has been on fire as of late with back to back games with 25 or more Fantasy points.

Now he gets a Thanksgiving match-up against the Giants who allow the third most Fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Put those two things together and Kirk Cousins could push for top-3 QB numbers in Week 12.

Start of the Week: Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills

After starting the year off hot, Hunt has cooled down with three games in a row of single digit Non-PPR Fantasy point totals and seven in a row without a touchdown.

I expect the Chiefs to get their start rookie running backs going again this week against the Bills who allow the second most Fantasy points to opposing running backs. Start Hunt with confidence.

Alfred Morris, RB, Dallas Cowboys vs Los Angeles Chargers

Making my sit column last week suggesting owners to wait until Morris received more volume to consider starting him, well the Cowboys finally gave it to him. Morris carried the ball 17 times for 91 yards against a tough Eagles’ rush defense.

Up next is a match-up against the Chargers who allow the fourth most Fantasy points to opposing running backs. Go ahead and give Morris a start in Week 12.

Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Julio Jones has been solid, but he hasn’t been elite so far this year, with only 1 touchdown and 2 games with over 100 receiving yards.

Expect things to change starting this week against the Bucs who allow the second most Fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Jones is a must start WR1.

Jared Cook, TE, Oakland Raiders vs Denver Broncos

A top-10 tight end so far this year, Cook had a mediocre 36 yard no touchdown game against the Patriots in Mexico. We will just chalk that up to the location and move on.

Cook gets a match-up against the Broncos who allow the second most Fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Start him and expect solid tight end production.

Honorable Mention: Marcus Mariota vs IND; Mark Ingram & Alvin Kamara vs LAR; DeVante Parker vs NE; Jordan Reed or Vernon Davis vs NYG

Josh McCown, QB, New York Jets vs Carolina Panthers

McCown has been a serviceable Fantasy quarterback throughout this year.

Don’t expect much out of him this week as he goes up against the Panthers who allow the sixth fewest Fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Find another stream option for Week 12.

Alex Collins, RB, Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans

Collins finally got into the end zone in Week 11 and has been the ravens workhorse back with double digit carries in six straight games.

However, this week the Ravens play the Texans who allow the fewest Fantasy points to opposing running backs. Sit Collins in this one.

Ameer Abdullah, RB, Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings

With a touchdown in three straight games Abdullah has been reliable but mediocre in all other departments.

Now he gets a match-up against the Vikings who allow the second fewest Fantasy points to opposing running backs. He torched them in Week 4 for over 100 total yards and a touchdown. Expect the Vikings to correct that and sit Abdullah in Week 12.

Sit of the Week: Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Arizona Cardinals vs Jacksonville Jaguars

No matter who plays quarterback for the Cardinals, Fitzgerald has been reliable at the wide receiver position. He has posted WR1 top-10 numbers throughout the year and will remain a solid Fantasy option.

Problem is he gets the Jags and their number one ranked pass defense this week. The Jaguars allow the fewest Fantasy points to opposing wide receivers and things shouldn’t change this week. Go ahead and avoid starting Fitzgerald in this one.

OJ Howard, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Atlanta Falcons

Howard has been boom or bust this year. He has three double digit Fantasy point performances and every other game he has scored 1 Non-PPR point or fewer.

Expect more of his norm this week against a Falcons defense that allows the third fewest Fantasy points to opposing tight ends and sit Howard.

Honorable Mention: Drew Brees vs LAR; Tarik Cohen vs PHI; DeAndre Hopkins vs BAL; Cameron Brate vs ATL
