The Fantasy Edge: 2018 Fantasy Football Post Hype Hope

This week on The Fantasy Edge we take a look at three article ideas that we at F6P pool for our contributors to peruse when looking for topics to write about. Post-hype sleepers is just one of several.

Jonathan Chan and Richard Savill  examine these post hype sleepers as their primary topic. A post-hype sleeper is loosely defined as a player that at one time carried high interest. Also, the case for or against DSTs in Fantasy Football and First Down scoring leagues are on the table for discussion this week.

In this podcast we discuss:

Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans

Mariota took the Titans to the playoffs in 2017, but his weapons lacked some effectiveness. The team seemed in development and some players not looking suited their scheme. This season OC Matt LaFleur looks to formulate an offense that plays to the strength of Mariota closer to his Oregon system.

John Ross, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

The release of Brandon LaFell opens up opportunity for the speedster. As it stands, the Bengals penciled in Tyler Boyd as their number two receiver. A.J. Green overpowers the rest of the receivers on the team, but opportunity for Ross can only build.

DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins

Another year and another chance. Cited often as one of the wasted talents in the NFL, Parker is entering the post-hype conversation coming into his fourth season. Is this finally the one?

The Pros and Cons of DSTs and Scoring

The kicker position is an endangered fantasy position. Are the DSTs next? What is the best method to score them? Yards or points? Is the unique strategy that comes with them is almost a game within the game.

First Down Fantasy Leagues

Do first down leagues give too much to running backs? What is an equitable system to score first downs if a commissioner employs it?

All this and much, much, more on The Fantasy Edge…
