It appears that the “Fitz-magic” has (somewhat) returned to Tampa Bay, as Ryan Fitzpatrick has usurped the starting quarterback role for the Bucs yet again. Fitz faired quite well overall during his initial four-game stint as the starter in Weeks 1-4 of the 2018 NFL season, throwing for 400+ yards in the first three games. Fitz was ultimately yanked for Jameis Winston, in Week 4, but has started the last two games for Tampa Bay. Will this week’s start get him back in the win column?

The ‘skins, meanwhile, find themselves atop the NFC East Standings at 5-3. Winners of three of their last four games, Washington has relied heavily on a rejuvenated Adrian Peterson to literally carry the load. However, the Redskins depleted O-line has aided in A.P. getting bottled up more recently. Tampa presents a very inviting match-up, though, so I expect Peterson to get back on-track in Week 10.

Washington is 1-2 against the NFC South this season, but after this week, I think they will be .500 against them. The ‘skins need to overcome multiple injuries, and Alex Smith has too juicy of a match-up to continue along his season-long path of mediocrity. The defense also needs to step-up big this week. If all of that comes to fruition, and Peterson has a strong showing, Washington can avoid back-to-back losses.

Pick: Redskins

Over/Under – Highlight Game

Brown vs. Falcons (O/U 50.5)

Earlier this season, I was all-in on Cleveland winning ten games. I was horribly wrong on that call. But, in my defense, it could have happened, IF they had a worthwhile kicker in the first few weeks. Alas, Browns ownership had seen enough after losing three-straight games from Week 6 through Week 8. Head Coach Hue Jackson and O.C. Todd Haley were both let go the day after that third loss, and the team is now still searching for their third win on the season.

Personally, I still see gobs of offensive talent on this team, and that talent faces a very favorable match-up, at home, in Week 10. Atlanta ranks at the bottom of the NFL against opposing quarterbacks (30th), running backs (30th), and wide receivers (29th). They also rank in the middle of the league against opposing tight ends, which bodes well for David Njoku, who is currently dealing with knee/rib injuries, but has yet to miss any games from those ailments.

Meanwhile, Atlanta has been on an opposite roll, winning three-straight games. Matt Ryan finally found Julio Jones in the end zone last week, and I can see plenty more of those looks over the next few weeks. After Cleveland, Atlanta welcomes those stinkin’ Cowboys to the A-T-L in Week 11, right before an important division match-up against the one-loss Saints in Week 12. Heading into that game at 6-4 is crucial for the Falcons, so they need to keep their foot on the gas this week!

Pick: The Over

Other Favorable O/U Picks

Stacks – Highlight Game

Eagles (-7.0) vs. Cowboys – O/U: 43.5

Speaking of those low-down, stink-fest Cowboys, let’s welcome them to the NFL Week 10 Betting Pick-Six’s Stacks Highlight Game! The ‘boys are on a somewhat short week after their Monday Night Football defeat, and face a refreshed Eagles team coming off their Week 9 Bye. Per usual, Jerry Jones has cornered the market on yet another Prime Time game, although, just like Week 9, I think he’ll again be disappointed with the outcome.

Philadelphia welcomes new wide receiver, Golden Tate, to the fold this weekend. Tate has been targeted a ton so far in his career, and he enters this week as yet another valuable weapon for the Eagles offense. I do still have some reservations about the Philly secondary. However, with Tate on-board, I think the Birds should be able to put up enough points to hopefully detract from their defensive woes.

Philly-Philly is gonna go Silly-Silly on them ‘boys!

Pick: Eagles and the Over

Other Favorable Stacks Picks

  • Saints (-5.5) @ Bengals (O/U 54) – Saints and the Over
  • Patriots (-6.5) @ Titans (O/U 46.5) – Patriots and the Under
  • 49ers (-3.5) vs. Giants (O/U 45) – 49ers and the Under
