on

The Tampa Bay Lightning have 72 points already – they are 35-8-2. The next best team is the Calgary Flames, 29-13-4, with 62 points. The San Jose Sharks and Las Vegas Golden Knights are the only other teams with 60+ points.

Since December 1st, 2018, the Lightning have lost just two games. They won their first eight games in December, before losing to the Winnipeg Jets on the road and then won another seven in a row before losing to the San Jose Sharks on January 5th, on the road. They have won three straight since that loss.

You have to go back to November 27th to find the last time Tampa Bay lost at home.

They are +60 in goal differential on the season, 14 goals better than the Toronto Maple Leafs and have scored 188 goals, 21 more than the Sharks.

Steven Stamkos is third on the team in points with 51 (24 goals/27 assists). Nikita Kuchervo (22/53 – 75 pts) and Brayden Point (29/32 – 61) have been leading the offensive attack from the second line. They all play on the first power play unit that leads the NHL with 46 goals, converting on a league-best 30.46% of opportunities.
