2019 NFL DFS Week 8 Stacks

on

Welcome back to the 2019 NFL DFS Week 8 stacks post. We can fully expect to see tons of chalky stacks across all the sites.

We have just two teams on bye weeks – the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys.

Patrick Mahomes has officially been ruled out for Sunday night’s contest against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, but that wasn’t going to be on the main slate anyway.

We also can’t pick on the Miami Dolphins this week because they are slated to play on Monday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Have fun with that Showdown!

It appears that everybody is going to be all over Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans offense against the Oakland Raiders in Week 8.

That is all well and good in cash games, but in order to take down a GPP, you will have to find some lesser owned stacks to propel you to to the top of the leaderboard.

The Lions run defense is bad and the Giants pass defense is also bad. The Lions will also be without Darius Slay in the secondary.

Without Kerryon Johnson, the Lions will most likely rely heavily on Stafford, but you will have to pay Watson/Wilson money for him.

Vegas has this game at 49 points,  the third-highest over/under in Week 8.

Chicago Bears

Mitchell Trubisky
David Montgomery
Allen Robinson

If there was ever a matchup that could right the ship for Chicago, is Week 8 at home vs the Los Angeles Chargers.

All the negative talk about Trubisky is warranted, but he is less than $5k on DraftKings, just $6.7k on FanDuel and the same price as Taysom Hill on Yahoo!

Matt Nagy has acknowledged that the Bears need to run the ball more and the Chargers defense has not done a great job defending it this season.

According to DVOA, Los Angeles is just as bad, if not worse, at defending the pass. Allen Robinson is matchup (and QB) proof.

The Bears’ defense is not the monster it was last season, but the Chargers offensive line is all sorts of banged up.

This quote from Pro Football Focus Power Rankings is all you need to know about the Chargers right now, and Keenan Allen might not play:

“Over the past three weeks, the Chargers have lost to Joe Flacco, FCS undrafted rookie Devlin Hodges and Ryan Tannehill. Things are looking grim in Los Angeles. Across those three losses, Melvin Gordon has 36 carries for just 81 yards, 68 of which have come after contact. Only one of those rushes has gone for a first down. The contrast between the first four weeks of the season in which Austin Ekeler recorded a first down or touchdown on 27% of his rushing attempts is stark.”

Los Angeles Rams

Jared Goff
Todd Gurley
Cooper Kupp
Robert Woods

The Los Angeles Rams “host” the Cincinnati Bengals in London this week but that game will be part of the main slate, with a 1pm EST start.

Last time I tried this, Jared Goff passed for less than 100 yards. However, they weren’t playing the Bengals that week.
