2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Drop List

on

Welcome to the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Drop List. I hope you guys are getting the dead weight off your fantasy teams (James Wiseman, injured).

If not, I am going to go with you have stopped paying attention to your team. With the playoffs coming up, now would be a good time to check out your roster if you are still in the hunt for the championship.

If you are having trouble with what players to add, you can check out our waiver wire article on the site.

As always in this article, I will be providing a few players to drop from your team, as well as add a few players into the danger zone. I will also have a few random thoughts near the end.

So without further ado, welcome to the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Drop List.

2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Drop List

James Wiseman, C, Golden State Warriors – 65% rostered
Injured(Meniscus Tear)

James Wiseman was a favorite to win rookie of the year at the start of the year, but after an up and down year and now a season-ending injury, it looks like that won’t be happening. James Wiseman ends his season having averaged 11.5 pts, 5.8 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 0.9 blocks.

Hamidou Diallo, SG/SF, Detroit Pistons – 33% rostered
Current Ranking: 208

Hamidou Diallo has played less than 20 minutes in four straight games after previously playing 24+ minutes in his previous four games. The reason for him losing minutes is unclear right now, but it is quite alarming to see. Diallo has also been struggling to put up any significant value in category leagues these past four games (3.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.8 steals).

In this past week, Diallo is averaging just 7.6 points a game on 43% shooting. He is also struggling at the free-throw line, shooting a measly 60%. As of right now, Diallo is not worth keeping on your roster. I would drop him.

Delon Wright, PG/SG/SF, Sacramento Kings – 40% rostered
Current Ranking: 92

Since becoming a King, Wright has been straight-up brutal. Other than a three-game stretch where he scored 16, 13, and 10 points, Delon Wright has failed to score more than 10+ points in six of his last nine games. His ranking has been plummeting. These past two weeks it’s down to 209, and this past week it dropped all the way down to 322 for the week.

Last Week(322): 28% FG PCT, 3 pts, 2.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.7 steals.

Last Two Weeks(209): 41% FG PCT, 7.1 pts, 2.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.9 steals.

Season(85): 46% FG PCT, 9.7 pts, 4.3 rbs, 4.5 assists, and 1.5 steals.

As you can see it’s been rough for Delon Wright. Drop him from your team now because he is not performing like he did at the start of the year.

DeMarcus Cousins, PF/C, Los Angeles Clippers – 25% rostered
Current Ranking: 253

I see that people are still trying to get on the DeMarcus Cousins train. This is laughable. At least we have it down to 25% rostered in Yahoo leagues. Cousins has played in two games for the Clippers and was non-existent in those games. In his first game, he scored seven points and had four rebounds. The second game was not as good (3 pts, and 2 rebounds).

His 10-day contract is about to end, so he might not have a job here soon. Drop him off your team.

Danger Zone

Blake Griffin, PF/C- Brooklyn Nets – 48% rostered
Current Ranking: 294

Blake Griffin is not playing enough to warrant a 48% rostering in Yahoo. He plays every other game, and in his past two games, his minutes have gone down (13 and 17). In his last two games, Blake Griffin scored a combined 12 points, while also nabbing only two combined rebounds and four assists. He isn’t really doing much for your team, so it might be best just to drop him and add someone who can make a real difference.

Mike’s Musings

With it getting close to the end of the year, it is getting more difficult to find players to add to the drop list. I will continue to bring you the best content I can and provide some players that you can definitively drop. That should do it for the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Drop List.
