2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Waiver Wire

Welcome to the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Waiver Wire.

The focus will be on players that are roughly less than 40% owned in Yahoo leagues with some over 40%. Make sure that you check your league’s availability.

I will try to keep each wavier wire column focused on new names, only touching on previous players if they may still be widely available.

This week will touch on some of the players that have a path to immediate minutes due to injuries and one player that is returning from a long layoff.

With position eligibility being different in each league, this column will just reference the positions as a generic Guard, Forward, and Center.

What a blow for the Denver Nuggets. Facundo Campazzo and Monte Morris are now the rotation at point guard.

2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Waiver Wire

Reggie Jackson, G, Los Angeles Clippers

Time and time again Reggie Jackson proves that he belongs on an NBA court. Whenever he is called upon, he does nothing provide a huge boost for his team. It is that your fantasy team gets a little of that boost.

Pat Beverley fractured his wrist a few days ago, putting him on the shelf for 3-4 weeks, opening up minutes for the above mentioned Jackson.

Jackson is a scorer by trade but he will also contribute in the rebounds and assist categories. He is not going to hurt you much and could be the lift your team needs heading into the fantasy playoffs.

With the Clippers jockeying for playoff seeding, Jackson will see the court for the foreseeable future.

Malachi Flynn, G, Toronto Raptors

Similar to the situation in LA, Flynn is seeing the court due to an injury. Fred VanVleet is out an extended period of time with issues in his hip.

The rookie from San Diego State has stepped up big time for the Raptors. He has topped 30 minutes in five of the six games since FVV went down.

During that span, Flynn is putting in some work. 13 PPG, 4.8 RBG, 6 AST and 2 SPG. In most fantasy leagues, that is a top 25-50 stat line.

Cole Anthony, G, Orlando Magic

Cole Anthony is back from a lengthy injury and he has immediate effect grabbed the reigns back on the point guard duties.

It still make take a few games for Anthony to fully get his legs back, but do not wait till then to pick him up.  Double digit points with help in assists and rebounds are not out of the question.

Isaiah Hartenstein, C, Cleveland Cavaliers

If you need a big man look no further. Jarrett Allen is still battling concussion issues with no timetable to return.

In the mean time, Hartenstein is manning the middle for the Cavs. During the time that Allen has missed, Hartenstein has been a top 100 player in 9-cat leagues.

He will not give you a ton points wise, but he makes up for that in rebounds and blocks. The key factor is he has no current competition for minutes at the center spot, so the floor is his.
