on

Welcome everyone to the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 17 Drop List. As always, in this article, I will be going over a few players to drop from your fantasy teams.

I will also be going over a couple of players that have found themselves in the danger zone. These players need to be monitored.

We are getting real close to the end of the year, so now is the time to get your teams’ in check. You don’t want to go into the playoffs with injured players, or some duds who aren’t performing.

I am hoping this article will help you make some tough decisions this week.

So without further ado, welcome to the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 17 Drop List.

Mason Plumlee, PF/C, Detroit Pistons – 55% rostered in Yahoo Leagues
Current Ranking: 59

The Pistons are way out of the playoff race. It seems like they want to keep trying out the young guys on their roster. In this instance, it’s Isaiah Stewart taking over the minutes from Mason Plumlee. Isaiah Stewart is absolutely dropping the hammer this past week (Rank: 17, 15.3 pts, 13.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.7 blocks).

With the rise of Stewart, Plumlee has been seeing his minutes drop from around 28-30 minutes to now 18-20 minutes, while also not playing every game. In his past five games played, Plumlee is averaging 20.4 minutes a game while scoring 7.4 points. He also isn’t adding anything in the other categories (5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists).

It is extremely dangerous to keep Mason Plumlee on your roster. It would be best to drop him right now. You might even be able to snag Isaiah Stewart if your league mates aren’t paying attention right now.

Deandre Jordan, PF/C, Brooklyn Nets – 49% rostered in Yahoo Leagues
Current Ranking: 111

Deandre Jordan’s playing time is now going to be based on matchups. There is no way you can go into the playoffs thinking this is a safe option.

He will have to split time with Jeff Green, Nicolas Claxton, and Blake Griffin. I suggest sending him to the waiver wire and picking up someone that actually has consistent playing time.

In this past week, Deandre Jordan is averaging 11 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.0 block.

Tomas Satoransky, PG/SG, Chicago Bulls – 20% rostered in Yahoo Leagues
Current Ranking: 185

Satoransky has been in struggle town lately. He has failed to score more than 10 points in three straight games and in five of his last six games. The minutes are there; he has played more than 25+ minutes in five of his last six games but he isn’t stuffing the stat sheet.

In his past two weeks, he is only averaging 6.3 pts, 1.4 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. It looks like Coby White might be taking back some minutes finally, so it might be best to send Tomas to the waiver wire.

LaMarcus Aldridge, PF/C, Retired – 48% rostered in Yahoo Leagues

Now would be a good time to get Aldridge off your team. He has retired after finding an irregular heartbeat.

Danger Zone

Terrence Ross, SG/SG, Orlando Magic – 57% rostered in Yahoo Leagues
Current Ranking: 136

Terrence Ross is dealing with back spasms right now, and the Magic are in no position to be pushing him back so early. They are eliminated from the playoffs, so they could look to the young players to see what they got.

This means R.J. Hampton should have a chance to prove himself.

Terrence Ross is averaging 15.6 pts on 41% shooting. He is also averaging just 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists. If you think you are solid in the ‘points’ category, then you can safely drop him. If you are struggling for points, keep him on your team for just a little bit longer.

Random Thoughts/Questions

What do we do about Jerami Grant (92%)? The Detroit Pistons are in full-on tank mode and Jerami Grant can be a casualty of this. He has missed four of the past six games with a bruised left quad. I don’t think they want to risk hurting Grant for the future so they might shut him down.

It should be interesting to see how the Pistons go about this. Keep an eye on it.

Well everyone that should do it for the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 17 Drop List. I hope you enjoyed and I will be here next week for Week 18.
