2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 6 Drop List

on

Welcome everyone to the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 6 Drop List. We are now into the sixth week of the season and it’s been nothing but stressful for fantasy players. Every day there is a possibility a game will be postponed, and more than likely there will be one game at least with that fate.

There is nothing we can do about it as fantasy basketball players except take our punches and move on.

Do you know what we can do though? Talk about the players that should be dropped from your fantasy teams. As always I will be going over a few players that I think you can safely drop and not feel bad about it at all.

There will also be a danger zone at the end of the article. This is just to let you know which players should be monitored in the next week.

Elfrid Payton, PG/SG, New York Knicks – (48% in Yahoo Leagues)

Current Ranking: 165

Why is he on 48% of yahoo teams? As you can see above he is currently ranked at 165 in yahoo leagues and he is on 48% of the teams. That is wild to me considering he doesn’t fill out the stat sheet enough to even warrant a roster spot. I don’t mean to be harsh but it’s justified.

Elfrid Payton is only averaging 12.6 points a game, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists on 29.3 minutes a game. His shooting has been pedestrian (43%), doesn’t make threes (0.6), and won’t help you in the free throw department (71%). He won’t be helping you in the blocks (0.2) or steals (0.7) category either. To make things worse he adds 2.1 turnovers a game.

I don’t want to jump the gun just yet but I think Immanuel Quickley might be the better option for the New York Knicks right now.

Drop him as you are reading this.

Dillon Brooks, SG/SF, Memphis Grizzlies – 43% in Yahoo Leagues

Currently Ranked: 180

This one is probably considered cheating because he has had five straight games postponed. Why aren’t people dropping him? I get that he is part of the offense but it is only for scoring(15.2 ppg) and he isn’t even doing that well (36%). His three-point percentage is pretty brutal, he shoots just over six of them a game and makes 30% of them.

If you play in category leagues he is providing you no value except 15 points a night. That is not enough in category leagues. Dillon Brooks turns the ball over an astonishing 2.5 times a game while only getting 3.1 assists a game. That is not going to cut it. He will get you some rebounds (3.9) but I feel like that isn’t enough to make up for all the bad things.

You can drop him, regardless of what day it is.

Shake Milton, PG/SG, Philadelphia 76ers – 44% in Yahoo Leagues

The 76ers are starting to get more healthy by the day which means the minutes for Shake Milton will be coming down more and more every game. In his last two games, Shake Milton is only averaging 20 minutes a game while adding 7 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0 blocks, and 1.5 turnovers a game. That is with the team healthier.

When the team was going through their covid crisis, Shake Milton had three straight games of 27 or more minutes while adding a 16 point game and two 25+ point games. Now that everyone is healthy I think you can feel safe in dropping Shake Milton. It was a go0d run, I know.

Danger Zone

There is one guy I’m going to put here because I am super worried about him and the way he has been performing. His roster percentage is extremely high so it might seem weird.

Robert Covington, PF/C, Portland Trailblazers – 76% in Yahoo Leagues

Currently Ranked: 135

Brutal. That is all I can say for the performance of Robert Covington. He is literally down in every category compared to last year except for free throw percentage. Robert Covington is shooting 30% on the year right now. WHAT? I knew he wasn’t the best shooter but come on man! If he keeps this up he will be on the drop list next week for sure.

And now he has some injury issues:

I keep holding out for hope that he will turn it around at some point though. Only time will tell.

That should do it for the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 6 Drop List. I will see everyone here again next week.
