Welcome to the 2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 8 Waiver Wire.
The focus will be on players that are roughly less than 40% owned in Yahoo leagues with some over 40%. Make sure that you check your league's availability.
I will try to keep each wavier wire column focused on new names, only touching on previous players if they may still be widely available.
With position eligibility being different in each league, this column will just reference the positions as a generic Guard, Forward, and Center.
2020-21 Fantasy Basketball Week 8 Waiver Wire
Jakob Poeltl, C, San Antonio Spurs
BLOCKED BY POELTL

The Spurs recently lost LaMarcus Aldridge to a hip flexor, leaving the door open for Poetl.
The front was thin for San Antonio already, so Poetl will start at center going forward.
If you need a source of rebounds and blocks, give him a look, I just would not expect much more.
Patrick Williams, F, Chicago Bulls
Patrick Williams on Friday: Career-high 20 points
Patrick Williams on Saturday: First career double-double (16pts, 10reb)
The rookie is giving Bulls fans A LOT to be excited about.

It's time for Williams to show why he was selected fourth overall by the Bulls.
With both Otto Porter Jr & Lauri Markkanen out, Williams will be asked to carry the load at forward.
Right now, he will give you points and rebounds, but no much else.
Hopefully, with the extended minutes, he will contribute across the board for owners.
Taurean Prince, F, Cleveland Cavaliers
It did not take long for Prince to find himself in the starting lineup for the Cavs.
Larry Nance is out 4-6 weeks and Kevin Love is still out, so Prince will start for the foreseeable future.
Prince has been very up & down since going to the Cavs, but he has scored in double figures in back to back games.
The Cavs are running out of options, and Prince will be heavily involved in the offense.
Daniel House Jr., G, Houston Rockets
Dennis Smith Jr., G, Detroit Pistons

Keep an eye on the above two players closely.
House is returning from injury and has been a fantasy asset in the past. People may have dropped him early on.
Smith Jr. gets a fresh start in Detroit after the trade from the Knicks.
There is not a lot of competition at the PG spot right now, so Smith should see minutes right away with the Pistons.
