Welcome to the 2020 Fantasy Football Devy Review – Volume 5. This will be a bi-weekly focus on two or three Devy players at each position and key performances.

With this collegiate year being as whacky as it has been, we will be doing bi-weekly reviews on the college season and touch on the key performers.

This week touches on a few known commodities in the devy community, but it keys in on the outstanding performances by some relative unknowns.

For those not familiar with Devy leagues, take a look back at the Quarterback, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers/Tight End Devy Rankings for a bit of an explanation to the leagues.

Quarterbacks

Kyle Trask, Florida Gators

Trask was stellar on Saturday, throwing for 356 yards and six touchdowns.

With his six-touchdown performance, Trask now leads the nation with 28 passing touchdowns.

He also rarely turns the ball over as he only has three interceptions on the year.

Trask has played himself into the conversation of a first-round quarterback.

Sam Howell, North Carolina Tar Heels

Howell just would not stop throwing the ball against Wake Forest.

He accumulated 550 yards and six touchdowns in the win.

Howell is third in the nation in yards (2,631) and tied for second in touchdowns (23).

If he keeps playing like this, he will have his name called early in the 2022 NFL draft.

Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati Bearcats

The dual-threat QB, Ridder is putting together a fine season for himself in Cinncinati.

He threw for 327 yards, ran for 75 yards, and had four total touchdowns in the win on Saturday.

Ridder has the Bearcats off to a hot start this season and his stock is on the up swing.

Running Backs

CJ Verdell, Oregon Ducks

It was a surprise to some the Verdall came back to school but he is off to a great start to his junior season.

He has back to back 100-yards games (223 total) and 86 receiving yards on seven catches while scoring twice.

The all-purpose back will shoot up draft boards with more performances like these and is a must-own devy RB.

Jaret Patterson, Buffalo Bulls

Patterson is part of a power 1-2 punch in the backfield in Buffalo.

He has rushed for 210 yards on 40 attempts in the first two games of his season, scoring twice in both.

Coming off a strong sophomore season, Patterson continues to show why he is a special talent at running back.

Wide Receivers

Elijah Moore, Ole Miss Rebels

What a season Moore is having.

He leads the nation in receptions (74), yards (1,054) and is tied for third in touchdowns with 8.

Moore has at least 10receptions in four of his five games played and has scored in all but one.

The junior is making a name for himself this season and scouts are starting to take notice.

Dazz Newsome, North Carolina Tar Heels

With the game Sam Howell had, it only felt right to include a UNC WR in this article.

Newsome is soften overlooked because of his WR counterpart Dyami Brown, but Newsome is just as talented.

He had his best game of the season with 10 receptions for 189 yards and two TDS.

Newsome now has six or more receptions and a touchdown in back to back games.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, USC Trojans

Despite not finding the endzone yet, St. Brown is a favorite of Kedon Slovis.

St. Brown has seven receptions in each game this season to go along with at least 100 yards in both contents.

He is averaging 15.2 yards per catch for a powerful USC offense.

St. Brown should be one of the top WRs off the board come draft time.

Pat Freiermuth (TE), Penn State Nittany Lions

Freiermuth lead Penn State this weekend in both yards (113) and receptions (7).

Despite the horrific season for Penn State, Freiermuth is averaging 5.75 catches and 77.5 yards per game.

One of the best TEs in the 2020 NFL draft class, he can line up all over the field, making him a very dangerous weapon.
