2020 Fantasy Football Week 12 Quarterback Streaming

Welcome to the 2020 Fantasy Football Week 12 Quarterback Streaming article!

Happy Thanksgiving! I am actually Canadian so my Thanksgiving was in October, but there is nothing I am more thankful for than daytime football and drinking when I should be working.

In last week’s article, I recommended streaming Matthew Stafford, Taysom Hill, and Alex Smith. A lot of variability in performance last week as those players finished as QB24, QB4, and QB23 respectively. Hoping for a bit more consistency this week, but such is the nature of fantasy football.

The 2020 Fantasy Football Week 12 Quarterback Streaming will highlight QBs owned in under 50% of NFL.com’s leagues.

Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders (56.5% Owned)

Derek Carr attempted 31 passes on Sunday Night Football, completing 23 of them for 275 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

Unfortunately, Carr and the Raiders watched Patrick Mahomes easily march down the field to take the lead, leaving just under half a minute for Carr and the Raiders, in which they could not come back.

However, it was still a very impressive showing for Carr who finished with 23 fantasy points and was just one drive away from sweeping their division rivals in the season series.

After a solid start to the year, Carr had cooled off considerably in his three games prior to this one, throwing only 24 times per game, leading to finishes of QB21, QB22, and QB25. Hopefully, with this QB8 performance, he is back on track.

I think most of what we saw in the past three matchups can be attributed to the Raiders gameplan. They won all of those games and as a result, Carr was efficient but he wasn’t asked to do much.

I think we should see another strong showing from Carr in this matchup.

The Matchup

The Las Vegas Raiders will travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons this Sunday.

Atlanta just allowed a huge game to first-time starter Taysom Hill. The perception is that most of Hill’s damage came on the ground, which is not exactly Carr’s strong suit. While he did have 51 rushing yards and two scores, he was equally effective through the air.

The Falcons allowed him to complete over 78% of his passes for 233 yards, leading to a passer rating of 109. They allow over 300 yards per game to the QB position, as well as the most fantasy points per game.

This game has one of the highest over/unders of the week at 55. This is perfect because it means that both teams are expected to score a lot, which should force the Raiders to pass early and often.

As an added bonus, Carr gets the Jets next week, who allow the fourth-most points to the position.

You should feel confident rolling out Carr this week, He is currently QB10 in our expert consensus rankings

Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (45.3% Owned)

If you were able to start Taysom Hill in the TE spot, or any spot, you were very happy this week. In a QB4 finish, Hill went 18 of 23 for 233 yards plus 51 and two touchdowns on the ground, and a divisional victory. This was basically the best outcome possible for Hill.

Any expert who claims to have been 100% sure that this was coming is lying. Hill had 18 career passing attempts before this game. Nobody was completely confident in what to expect, but he came through in a big way.

Hill showed that he is more than just a gadget player, he is a quarterback, and possibly even a good one at that. Albeit this was against the Falcons’ 32nd ranked pass defense.

With a full-game under his belt, I am fully willing to trust Hill in my lineup.

The Matchup

The New Orleans Saints will travel to Mile High to take on the Broncos this weekend.

The Broncos are middle of the pack in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks and are coming off a great performance against the Dolphins in which they forced rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa to the bench.

However, in the previous four games, the Broncos allowed 43 points to the Chiefs, 30 to the Chargers, 34 to the Falcons, and 37 to the Raiders. So I’m confident Taysom Hill and Sean Payton will find weaknesses to expose.

Oh, and by the way, that team he just torched last week for 24 fantasy points? He gets them again the following week.

Is Taysom Hill really the Saints’ QB of the future?

I don’t know, but I don’t care. Rushing QBs are a fantasy cheat code, and as long as Hill continues to offer this kind of rushing upside I want him on my rosters and in my lineups this week.

Bargain Bin Option

Philip Rivers, Indianapolis Colts (5.9% Owned)

Philip Rivers completed 24 of 36 attempts for 288 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, good for QB10 on the week.

This was another statement win for the Colts, their defense is among the best in the league and Rivers seems to finally be finding a bit of a groove. In his first five games Rivers was the QB30 in PPG, but from Week 6 on he has been the QB14 in PPR. It has truly been a tale of two halves.

Trusting Rivers is a scary proposition, but he has helped you a lot more than he has hurt you lately, and the matchup looks juicy.

The Matchup

The Indianapolis Colts will stay home to square-off against the Tennessee Titans, who are coming off a huge overtime victory against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Titans defense has been their Achilles’ heel this season, as they allow the eighth-most yardage to opposing teams and the sixth-most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position.

My favorite part about streaming Rivers this week is that he played the Titans just two weeks ago, so we have a good baseline of what to expect. In that game, he threw for over 300 yards but only managed to put up one touchdown, so he finished as the QB13.

Still, the yardage is encouraging, and I believe Rivers’ good play will continue in this one, he is a fine start in 2QB leagues.
