Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Baltimore Ravens

  • Myles Jack, LB: Start
  • Joe Schobert, LB: Start
  • JAX DLs: Sit

What a mess this defense has become. With Josh Allen out there hasn't really been a viable pass rusher outside of maybe Duwanne Smoot, but even he's been pretty meh at best.

If Baltimore can play like they did this past week against the Browns, I see this game getting out of hand quickly, and leaning towards a very run-heavy game script for the Ravens. They already hold the highest run to pass rate in the league, but this could be quite the run-off early.

  • Chuck Clark, DB: Sit
  • Deshone Elliot, DB: Sit
  • Marlon Humphrey, DB: Flex
  • Patrick Queen, LB: Start
  • Yannick Ngakoue, DL: Flex
  • Matt Judon, LB: Sit

I'm not overly wild about this defense going into the week. The ineptitude of this Jaguars offense really gives me pause when it comes to liking anyone besides Queen on this defense.

I will say Minshew is often very careless with the ball, this can offer some upside, sure. But if you're banking on turnovers that's usually how you end up disappointed. In my opinion at least. I'd rather chase steady production in tackles, then if a player can sprinkle in impact plays consistently, those are the players I love to target.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs Atlanta Falcons

  • Antoine Winfield, DB: Flex
  • Devin White, LB: Start
  • Lavonte David, LB: Start
  • Shaq Barrett, LB: Flex
  • Jason Pierre-Paul, DL: Start

This defense has a chance to offer some serious pop this week. Where the Falcons don't run the ball frequently you can't sit White or David. They're the studs that got you this far.

The same goes for JPP, and he actually has a solid matchup against the Falcons offensive line.

Shaq Barrett and Antoine Winfield have been inconsistent down the stretch, but these guys are high upside plays that can offer you some boom potential in your lineups this weekend,

  • Keanu Neal, DB: Flex
  • Foyesade Oluokon, LB: Start
  • Deion Jones, LB: Start
  • Dante Fowler, DL: Sit

Neal is another player that's been somewhat inconsistent down the stretch, but the Buccaneers play well to the DB with their above-average yards per pass attempt. Arians likes to push the ball down the field into that intermediate area downfield which will benefit these LBs and DBs immensely.

San Francisco 49ers Vs Dallas Cowboys

  • Jimmie Ward, DB: Sit
  • Fred Warner (Q), LB: Start
  • Dre Greenlaw, LB: Start***
  • Arik Armstead, DL: Sit
  • Kerry Hyder, DL: Start

Greenlaw actually becomes a sit for me if Warner plays. Greenlaw just isn't anything more than a tackle guy, which can be cool, but if a guy isn't stuffing stat sheets he's just not all that start worthy unless it's a great matchup.

Kerry Hyder is one of the unsung heroes for this defense as he's been one of the few bright spots to this pass rush. He's also been one of the low key better adds of the season.

Dallas Cowboys

  • Donovan Wilson (Q), DB: Flex
  • Jaylon Smith, LB: Start
  • Leighton Vander Esch, LB: Flex
  • Demarcus Lawrence, DL: Flex
  • Aldon Smith, DL: Flex
  • Randy Gregory, DL: Sit

This Dallas defense is another one that's a bit of a mess. Jaylon Smith finally rewarded those of us that were patient with a big game last week but will that continue?

This pass rush remains inconsistent. However, the Washington Football Team was able to have quite a day against this 49ers front last week. Where I don't think that the Dallas Cowboys have nearly as much talent, it proves there's some opportunity here, along with reason for optimism.

Philadelphia Eagles Vs Arizona Cardinals

  • Jalen Mills, DB: Sit
  • Alex Singleton, LB: Start
  • T.J. Edwards, LB: Sit
  • Brandon Graham, DL: Sit

I'm not starting anyone on this defense unless they're named Alex Singleton. *shrugging emoji*

Arizona Cardinals

  • Budda Baker, DB: Start
  • Jordan Hicks, LB: Start
  • De'Vondre Campbell (Q), LB: Sit
  • Isaiah Simmons, LB: Flex
  • Markus Golden, DL: Flex

I know we shouldn't root for injuries. But man it'd be cool to see Isaiah Simmons get a full-time role in Week 15 for the Fantasy Playoffs.

Markus Golden is a zero floor high ceiling play this week. The Eagles suddenly learned how to run an offense without getting a QB sacked in a game. The matchup on paper is fine, but there are safer players to play this week.

New York Jets Vs Los Angeles Rams

  • Marcus Maye (Q), DB: Start
  • Mathias Farley, DB: Deep Flex*
  • Neville Hewitt, LB: Start
  • Harvey Langi, LB: Start
  • Quinnen Williams, DL: Sit

If Maye sits out with an injury I'm probably willing to flex Farley with confidence. He was a decent Fantasy commodity when he was playing with the Colts a couple of years ago and would have some opportunity should Maye sit this week.

Hewitt and Langi may be talked about as Fantasy Playoffs MVPs after this week. I see them having a big game against this offense.

Los Angeles Rams

  • John Johnson, DB: Start
  • Jordan Fuller, DB: Sit
  • Troy Reeder, LB: Flex
  • Leonard Floyd, DL: Flex
  • Aaron Donald, DL: Flex

If there was ever a time to have Floyd in your lineup it's now. He's thrived in great matchups throughout the season, and he finds himself in one this weekend.

Reeder does concern me with how much opportunity he'll get. However, he's been efficient with the time he's had in Micah Kiser's place.

Kansas City Chiefs Vs New Orleans Saints

  • Tyrann Mathieu, DB: Flex
  • Daniel Sorensen, DB: Flex
  • Ben Niemann, LB: Sit
  • Willie Gay, LB: Sit
  • Anthony Hitchens, LB: Sit
  • Chris Jones, LB: Sit
  • Frank Clark, DL: Sit

I just hate this defense. Like can we please fire up Willie Gay and call it a day?

The DBs draw a pretty good matchup against this Saints offense. I'll say Chris Jones has some upside this week as Hill seems to struggle most with pressure up the middle, and this team has been more susceptible to sacks with Taysom Hill under center. I'm still not willing to bank on him.

New Orleans Saints

  • Malcolm Jenkins, DB: Flex
  • Chauncey Gardner Johnson, DB: Flex
  • Demario Davis, LB: Flex
  • Cam Jordan, DL: Sit
  • Trey Hendrickson, DL: Sit
  • Marcus Davenport, DL: Sit

I'm really not wild about anyone on this defense this week as you can see. The DLs draw a tough matchup against Patrick Mahomes as he's one of the more elusive QBs to sack. He's elite at buying time and throwing the ball away as opposed to taking a sack.

These DBs are in an okay spot because of the high yards per pass attempt stat that Mahomes brings. However, I'm not wild about them.

Cleveland Browns Vs New York Giants

  • Andrew Sendejo, DB: Sit
  • Karl Joseph, DB: Sit
  • B.J. Goodson, LB: Sit
  • Olivier Vernon, DL: Start
  • Myles Garrett, DL Start

This DB/LB group just isn't good, and it's part of the reason why this defense struggles as a whole. Outside coverage is great but they leave the middle wide open.

Fire up these pass rushers against Danny Loans and this banged-up offensive line.

New York Giants

  • Jabrill Peppers, DB: Start
  • Logan Ryan, DB: Flex
  • Blake Martinez, LB: Start
  • Tae Crowder, LB: Sit
  • Leonard Williams, DL: Sit

The Browns offer one of the toughest matchups to the DL position. The pass protection has been elite this season. Coupled with the high run rate the Browns hold, this makes pass rushers have to pass that little bit that affords Baker more time to get the ball away.

However, that same run rate benefits the DB/LB group, especially with Baker's high yards per pass attempt stat.

Pittsburgh Steelers Vs Cincinnati Bengals

  • Terrell Edmunds (Q), DB: Sit
  • Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB: Flex
  • Avery Williamson, LB: Sit
  • Stephon Tuitt, DL: Flex
  • Alex Highsmith, DL: Sit
  • Cameron Heyward, DL: Sit
  • T.J. Watt, DL/LB: Start

Minkah Fitzpatrick is almost a guy you can't sit. He's not consistent by any stretch but his big-play ability is just undeniable.

Gimme all of T.J. Watt this week. He was schemed out of the game last week, but I don't think Zac Taylor is smart enough to scheme Watt out of this one.

The rest of this defense has been riddled with injuries and has turned into a mess I want nothing to do with. Stick to the studs and don't get too cute.

  • Jessie Bates, DB: Start
  • Vonn Bell, DB: Sit
  • Josh Bynes, LB: Sit
  • Sam Hubbard, DL: Sit
  • Carl Lawson, DL: Sit

This defense stinks. Jessie Bates is the man. Carry me to championship week man! I have quite a few shares of Jessie Bates if you couldn't guess.
