2020 Fantasy Football Week 16 Quarterback Streaming

Welcome to the 2020 Fantasy Football Week 16 Quarterback Streaming article!

First off, give yourself a huge pat on the back if you’ve made it this far. The fantasy football season can be grueling, but through hard work, skill, and undoubtedly some luck, you’ve found yourself in the Championship, well done.

However, there is no glory in second place. If you want to win it all you’ve come to the right place. I am confident these streamers will help you bring home the title.

In last week’s article, I recommended streaming Jalen Hurts and Philip Rivers. Hurts finished as the QB1 overall, and Rivers as the QB19. Not bad, but I have even higher hopes for this week’s streamers.

The 2020 Fantasy Football Week 16 Quarterback Streaming will highlight QBs owned in under 50% of NFL.com’s leagues.

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (39.3% Owned)

Last week I said Hurts was a priority pickup in every league, and boy did he make me look smart. Hurts completed 24 of 44 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, he added 11 carries for 63 yards and a score.

Hurts looks fantastic right now. This Eagles’ offense was dragging its feet with Carson Wentz at the helm, and now we are seeing signs of life. Hurts' rushing baseline provides a nice floor for him to fall back on, as well as an increased ceiling so that he can have these number one overall type weeks.

If Hurts is available in your league, then stop reading right here. Pick him up and play him, you’re all set.

The Matchup

Hurts and the Eagles will go to Dallas to take on the Cowboys this week.

Hurts just lit up the Arizona Cardinals for 38 fantasy points despite the Cardinals on average allowing just 19.7 fantasy points to QBs. Now Hurts gets to take on the Dallas Cowboys, who also on average allow 19.7 fantasy points to QBs.

Could we see a repeat performance? It is certainly possible.

There is no need to overcomplicate things here, Hurts is on fire and has a great matchup here. He is the highest-ranked QB streamer (under 50% owned) I’ve had all season.

Our expert consensus rankings have him as the QB8 on the week, ahead of proven players like Tom Brady and Russell Wilson. Play with confidence.

Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns (34.9% Owned)

Update: Four WRs for the Browns will miss the game for COVID related reasons.

Streaming Baker Mayfield is far less attractive now, look for other options to pivot to.

Baker Mayfield easily completed 27 of 32 attempts for 297 yards, and two touchdowns, good for a QB12 finish in a primetime win over the Giants.

Baker had a rough start to the year. He played some difficult defenses, Odell Beckham Jr. got injured and then had to play in multiple bad weather games consecutively.

However, he has recently caught fire. His last four finishes are QB12, QB4, QB2, QB12. He is the QB3 in that time period behind only Josh Allen and Ryan Tannehill.

It is scary to start Baker in your championship as his team has a run-first mentality, but there is simply no denying Mayfield’s recent play.

The Matchup

The Cleveland Browns will travel to New York to take on the no-longer-winless Jets.

The Jets somehow managed to upset the Rams last week, but make no mistake, this team is still terrible. They give up the third-most fantasy points to QBs.

A big reason for this is that they are a passing funnel defense. The Jets allow the tenth fewest fantasy points to running backs. Their Run D allows just four yards per carry, eighth least in the league.

So teams have wisely decided to simply throw against them as their pass defense is significantly worse than their run defense. I’d expect Baker and the Browns to do the same.

Baker looks like a completely different quarterback than the one from the beginning of the season and he has a great matchup. Give him a chance to help you win your finals.

Bargain Bin Option

Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears (7.8% Owned)

Mitchell Trubisky completed 15 of 21 attempts for 202 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also rushed for 34 yards. Trubisky didn’t get many opportunities in this one, with his 21 attempts paling in comparison to David Montgomery’s 32 carries.

Since regaining the starting job Trubisky as a quarterback has looked much improved, but for fantasy, he has been a rollercoaster.

In the past four weeks, he has finished with 21 points, 13 points, 25 points, and then 14 points this week. That's QB11 material but the consistency is enough to make any fantasy owner nervous.

Starting Trubisky is a gamble at this point, but this matchup looks juicy.

The Matchup

Trubisky and the Bears will travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars this week.

The Jaguars are terrible in just about every defensive area right now. They are allowing the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. This is perfect for a QB like Trubisky who can only be trusted in soft matchups.

However, they are also allowing the third-most fantasy points to running backs this season. So the risk of Montgomery taking over the game again is very real.

Starting Trubisky comes down to what you believe will happen in this matchup. I believe there will be enough fantasy points to go around for both Trubisky and Montgomery to make owners happy.

Trubisky is a decent, albeit stress-inducing, option for your championship lineup.
