2021 Fantasy Best Ball ADP Movement on Underdog

Well fantasy football enthusiasts we can never get anything nice to go our way this year. Injuries are just going to be a huge factor this year and we will have to deal with it the best we can. This is a sad face for all fantasy owners. We wish for every week to have very little injuries. Unfortunately in Week 9 there were some injuries to some major fantasy players, a big time injury scare to a top end fantasy QB, and a bunch of minor injuries that I will be going over in this article.

So friends welcome to the 2020 Fantasy Football Week 9 Injury Impact article. I hope you enjoy it.

2020 Fantasy Football Week 9 Injury Impact

First off I'm going to start with the potential major injuries that happened this week. Let's hope these injuries aren't very serious like they turned out to be last week.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers - Shoulder (TBD)

Fantasy mega superstar Christian McCaffrey finally returned to action this week for the Panthers. He got right back in to the swing of things catching 10 balls for 82 yards with a touchdown. He also rushed the ball 18 times for 69 yards and a TD. Christian McCaffrey looked like he never missed a game until late in the 4th quarter he landed awkward on his shoulder/collarbone area and then tried coming back the next play but ended up having to leave the play after that.

Honestly this landing did not look good for him. It could lead to an AC sprain or something along those lines. Hopefully it is nothing serious, we will know more in the next few days so make sure you are looking out for that.

In his place Mike Davis, and RB/WR hybrid beast Curtis Samuel will get most of the touches in the backfield if C-Mac were to miss some time again.

Kyle Allen, QB, Washington Football Team - Ankle (Season)

Yikes! This was a rough looking injury, you can even say gruesome if you want. Once again a QB absolutely destroys his ankle, Kyle Allen will most definitely miss the rest of the season. Alex Smith who also suffered a pretty gruesome injury years back will now be the signal caller in Washington.

I think with Alex Smith there won't be that much of a change in the offense. Terry McLaurin is still going to get a ton of targets, Antonio Gibson should get more work on the ground and in the passing game a little bit too hopefully.

Preston Williams, WR, Miami Dolphins - Ankle/Foot (TBD; more than likely season)

After catching four balls for 60 yards and a TD Preston Williams injured his foot/ankle which actually happened on his scoring play. He ended up being carted off the field, based off that it doesn't sound good for Preston Williams right now. If he were to miss time expect Mike Gesicki, and Devante Parker to get most of the targets. Jakeem Grant could be a deep league pickup for you guys for sure.

Minor Injuries

Please monitor these injuries in the coming days/weeks.

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers - Knee

Fantasy fans avoided a major injury to a star QB this week as Big Ben left for the locker room right before halftime with what looked like a knee injury. In some good news for this week Ben Roethlisberger returned to action in the second half and was absolutely dealing bringing the Steelers back against the Cowboys to stay undefeated.

Laviska Shenault Jr - Hamstring (maybe 1 week +)

Unfortunately rookie wideout Laviska Shenault Jr wasn't able to do much this week as he injured his hamstring on Sunday. He ended up with only one catch and it went for negative one yards.

With him more than likely missing one or more weeks I wouldn't expect much to change. Laviska wasn't setting the world on fire before the injury anyways. Chris Conley will benefit the most as he should be able to see the field a whole lot more now if Shenault is out for a little.

Concussions Strike Again

David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears - (TBD; concussions are different for every player)

You hate to see it happen but unfortunately it's part of the game. David Montgomery ended up leaving Sunday's game with a concussion after only rushing the ball 14 times for 30 yards while also adding three catches for 12 yards.

Let's hope he is able to return for their next game, if not the Chicago Bears might be in trouble at Running Back.

David Johnson, RB, Houston Texans - (TBD)

In the second quarter Myles Jack from the Jaguars gave David Johnson an absolute pop to the head. David Johnson had to leave the game and was diagnosed with a concussion. He was only able to rush the ball twice for 16 yards before the injury. With him possibly missing a week I expect Duke Johnson to get most of the touches. In his new role Duke Johnson touched the ball a total of 20 times for 72 scrimmage yards and one touchdown. I expect similar numbers from him if David Johnson is gone.

Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts - (TBD)

Jack Doyle ended up leaving the game Sunday with a concussion. He ended up not doing anything in the game not catching one ball. I expect him to miss time as he has a history with this for sure. It seems like he may have lost his spot to Trey Burton and Mo Alie Cox anyways so for most fantasy owners you aren't keeping him on your roster.

Well fantasy football nerds that will do it for the 2020 Fantasy Football Week 9 Injury Impact article. Come back next week for all the injuries that happen in Week 10.
