2020 NFL DFS Week 3 DraftKings Picks

Welcome back to my 2020 NFL DFS Week 3 DraftKings Picks.

What a week of injuries. If you escaped week two with your teams intact you are one of the lucky ones. The injury bug bit some big players. We lost Saquon Barkley and Courtland Sutton to ACL tears, putting them on the shelves for the entire season. Christian McCaffrey and Michaels Thomas could miss a big chunk of time with ankle injuries.

The defensive side of the ball did not fare well either. If you are playing in a league that uses defenses you saw one of the best take some losses.

The San Francisco 49ers lost Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas for the season during a matchup against the New York Jets. Also, injuries in their secondary have made a once-mighty defense a shell of its former self. Even still, the Jets could only muster up 13 points (I just don't understand how Adam Gase still has a job!)

However, I have some great news for you, this is a DFS article. So while your Fantasy team has crashed and burned, you can come here and read on how to set your weekly lineups on DraftKings.

David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears ($5,700)

Montgomery rushed 16 times for 82 yards and caught all three of his targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in a 17-13 win against the New York Giants. He is going against another bad defense in Week 3 as the Chicago Bears take on the Atlanta Falcons.

Ezekiel Elliott took 22 rushes for 89 yards and a touchdown while reeling in six of seven targets against the Falcons defense. Montgomery could have a day equal to Elliott's, as this could be another high scoring game.

Montgomery looks to be going into Week 3 healthy after leaving the game against the Giants with a neck injury. He is not listed on any injury reports and is good to go.

DraftKings outlook:

Montgomery is projected to score over 13 points on DraftKings. The Falcons are ranked 30th against RB's, making Montgomery a good play this week.

Also, the Bears running back has factored in the passing game as well, receiving three targets in each of the first two games. His pass-catching ability really raise his floor in this game as Mitchell Trubisky is going to look to check down to him at times.

Look to stack your Bears players in this game with WR Allen Robinson ($6,200) and QB Mitchell Trubisky ($5,700).

Trubisky is averaging over 19 points on DraftKings and has been playing well enough to put in your lineups weekly. Robinson, on the other hand, has been struggling this season. But he has seen 18 targets in two games and this could be the breakout game!

D.K. Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks, ($6,500)

Against the former Defensive Player of the Year, Metcalf caught four of six targets for 92 yards and a touchdown. With the Seahawks letting Russell Wilson cook, the second-year receiver has been feasting.

Jerry Jones did not invest too much in that secondary during the offseason, and it shows. The Cowboys already have had two 100-yard games and four touchdowns scored on their secondary. I don't see them stepping up in this game.

DraftKings outlook:

Metcalf is projected to score over 15 points on DraftKings. That is a great floor for a WR at his price point. I'm predicting this is going to be Metcalf's first 100-yard game, as the Cowboys do not have the personnel to slow him down.

I like the idea of pairing Metcalf with Russell Wilson ($7,300). This is going to be one of the times I will say spend up at QB. When you get a matchup as juicy as this, you are going to want every part of it. Wilson has averaged over 34 points on DraftKings on the back of nine touchdowns in just two games. Pete Carroll finally #LetRussCook.

Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles ($4,900)

Goedert has 12 receptions, 131 yards and a touchdown in two games. He has been showcased in the offense this season as the team continues to run two-TE sets.

Goedert had a great game in Week 1 putting up 101 yards on eight receptions and scored a touchdown.

Going up against the Cincinnati Bengals he could repeat that performance. The Bengals defense gave up five receptions and 73 yards to Hunter Henry in Week 1.

Fire up Goedert, he could have a big week!

DraftKings outlook:

Goedert is projected to score 12 points on DraftKings. I feel he is going to exceed that against the Cincy defense.

Dallas has 17 targets in two games, giving him three more than Zach Ertz. Jalen Reagor is likely headed to the IR with a thumb injury, and QB Carson Wentz has not been able to get the ball downfield due to a bad offensive line, meaning Goedert should see an increase in targets.

I like pairing Goedert up with RB Miles Sanders ($6,400). To say that the Bengals are bad against the run is an understatement. Both the Chargers and the Browns ran all over them. Even with a bad offensive line, Sanders could have a great game in Week 3.
