Welcome one and all, new readers and returning readers, to the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 12 Waiver Wire!

I hope you all are enjoying the holidays and staying safe!

Before we get into the must-have waiver adds, let's look at the studs and duds of the week.

Stud: Fred VanVleet, PG/SG, Toronto Raptors

VanVleet has been on fire over the last week, putting together multiple 30 point performances, capping it off with a 35 point explosion, with five boards and five assists. As the primary ball-handler on this Raptors team, we can expect more performances like this in the near future, unless Pascal Siakam goes nuclear.

Dud: Gordon Hayward, Charlotte Hornets

For someone who is getting 30 minutes a game as a key starter, Hayward is not very valuable for fantasy over these last few games. After his 41 point blowup against San Antonio, he has gone cold, shooting under 40 percent from the field. He seems to be less aggressive, taking fewer shots, ceding control to guys like Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball. Hayward has been good all year, so this should just be a temporary rut.

Take a look at last week's waiver wire post to make sure you are cleaning up on the boards!

Without further ado, time to see who you need to add to your Fantasy rosters!

Josh Giddey, SG, Oklahoma City Thunder (47.9% Rostered ESPN)

This kid is oozing potential. And he showed it off Sunday night against Dallas, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double. He has been ripping off double-doubles as well, making him a more attractive fantasy asset by the day.

As the only other real facilitator on the Thunder besides Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giddey will rack up assist numbers, and his rebounding is impressive for a guard as well, showing flashes of another former guard who ruled OKC in Russell Westbrook.

If he can improve his jump shot, Giddey will be a top Fantasy player. For now, he is worth a pickup as a streaming asset.

Coby White, PG, Chicago Bulls (14.3% Rostered)

With Lonzo Ball out due to COVID-19 protocols, White stepped into the starting lineup and began to cook. Four straight double-digit scoring games, a double-double, and consecutive 20-point performances on efficient shooting from the field.

Ball is expected to be back in the next day or two but might be on a minutes limit. Even if he will be coming off the bench again, White is in a groove and should be rostered as long as he keeps producing.

Omer Yurtseven, C, Miami Heat (8.7% Rostered)

Eight straight games with at least 10 rebounds. Four consecutive double-doubles. This is the must-have waiver wire pickup of the week. Yurtseven has been given a golden opportunity, with Dewayne Dedmon and Bam Adebayo out of commission for a while.

Yurtseven is the only real center as of now, and he is making the most of his chances. He is shooting efficiently, gobbling up rebounds, and even getting some steals and blocks here and there. An extremely valuable fantasy asset to have.
