2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Drop List

Before we kick off the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 15 Drop List let's take a look back at last week's article to see what we got right and where we went wrong.

Since last week's article has come out, the players haven't played many games. Omer Yurtseven, who we were dropping because of concerns of playing time, only played in one game for seven minutes. He posted four points and two rebounds and has been a complete nonfactor since Bam Adebayo returned to the Miami Heat's lineup.

Toronto Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes had one good game and one bad game before being a late scratch in his third game of the week with a minor injury. He played on Wednesday night and scored 16 points with seven assists and 5 rebounds.

Bogdan Bogdanovic did not play last week for the Atlanta Hawks but returned on Wednesday dropping 18 points with seven assists and three rebounds.

While it is too soon to get a definite idea on whether we were correct to recommend moving on from Scottie Barnes I think it is safe to say that we were correct in our concerns with the other two players on last week's list.

Looking Back At Last Week

Josh Hart, SG/SF, New Orleans Pelicans (Rostered 49% ESPN)

Player Rater 15: 0.42

Josh Hart is the kind of player that puts up a minor contribution across most of the categories used in standard leagues. The issue with that kind of player is that they don't stand out in any category as they are just a minor positive across the board.

Hart has the added negative that while he does end up putting up positive value according to the player rater 15, he has a single category that is just terrible. That would be his free throw percentage, where according to the player rater 15 Hart is putting up a score of -1.89. That is bad, especially for a guard since you are still going to have to roster a couple of centers.

Tim Hardaway Jr, SG/SF, Dallas Mavericks (61.1%)

Player Rater 15: 1.55

https://twitter.com/MavsNationCP/status/1486230585500893187

Tim Hardaway Jr is a player that has landed on this list a couple of times before. The reason for that is that he is just an inefficient player who normally posts a negative value in both field goal percentage and free throw percentage.

That hasn't changed, but the reason that he is appearing on the list this week is that in the game that he played he broke a bone in his foot. We don't have a timetable yet on how long he will be out, but Hardaway Jr just isn't the type of player that you want to be holding onto while he is injured and not playing games for your team.

Andre Drummond, C, Philadelphia 76ers (37.8)

Player Rater 15: 0.26

Drummond has only broken the 20-minute mark once since Christmas. That just isn't a whole lot of playing time for a guy that is rostered in almost 38% of leagues on ESPN. The reason he is so heavily rostered while playing so few minutes is that he is a big-time contributor in a few different categories.

The main two categories he provides value for are field goal percentage and rebounds. Depending on how well he is playing and how active he is on the defensive end Drummond can put up so pretty good numbers in the blocks and steals categories as well.

The problem with Drummond is what the main problem has been with him his entire career. That is free throw percentage. According to the player rater, 15 Drummond is providing a value of -4.21 in the free-throw percentage category. That is category losing production right there.  Unfortunately, this means that Drummond only fits into a team that is punting free throw percentage.
