2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 15 Weekly Planner

by Bill Yin

Welcome to the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 15 Weekly Planner!

We’re officially past the halfway point of the regular fantasy season, and the trade deadline looms ever closer.

The Eastern Conference is looking really interesting at the moment. The 8th seed Wizards are only five games behind the 1st seed Bulls. The 4th seed Cavaliers are only 1.5 games behind the Bulls. With the top of the East shaping up as it currently is, it’s actually hard to say who’s going to emerge as the top dog in the conference which has generally been regarded as inferior for the past decade.

The Western Conference isn’t as competitive. The 8th seed Lakers are a full 12.5 games behind the 1st seed Suns, and it would take an absolute disaster for the Lakers to fall out of a play-in spot, barring a late-season resurgence from the Trail Blazers, Clippers, or the Spurs. All of which are highly unlikely.

Do you know what else is unlikely? Your chances of winning your week without jumping into the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 15 Weekly Planner, where you’ll find options for streaming, pickups, and teams to target and avoid.

Pickup of the Week

Goga Bitadze, C, Indiana Pacers

Myles Turner is sidelined for the next three weeks or so, and with his absence, the Pacers will turn to Goga Bitadze, a third-year pro from Georgia. He was the 18th pick in the 2019 draft. He averages 10 minutes a game for his career, but there may be an opportunity coming around the corner as the Pacers need a big man to provide the rim protection that Turner typically does so well. Keep in mind that Myles Turner is essentially a unicorn, as he is one of the few elite rim protectors who can stroke the 3 respectably for a big man. Because of his rare player profile, he’s been listed in a lot of trade rumors, and should Turner get moved, these additional Bitadze minutes could become more permanent.

Bitadze is posting per-36 numbers of 13 points, 10 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 2.3 blocks. He’s been hilariously inefficient this season, posting a FG mark of 38% with 68% FT to boot, but those numbers should trend up as long as he takes fewer 3 pointers. He’s shooting a putrid 17% on 30 attempts on the season, which actually means he’s taken more 3’s than he has shots at the rim (26). Pick him up and see what happens.

Team to Target

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks have four games in Week 15 and have a lot of streaming upside. Luka Doncic has only played in 66% of the games this season due to his ankle issues, and Jalen Brunson has been surprisingly productive this season. Brunson ranks 45th in total value on the season.

The Mavericks play against the Warriors (1st in defensive rating), Trail Blazers (29th), Pacers (22nd), and Magic (25th).

Team to Avoid

Houston Rockets

The Rockets play only two games in Week 15, and their lack of streaming upside demands no explanation. They’re a bottom-three team in the NBA and defensively terrible.

They’re playing against the Spurs (Tuesday) and the Trail Blazers (Thursday) and simply don’t have any streamers worth starting.
