Welcome to the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Weekly Planner! If you began your fantasy season at the start of the season like the majority of managers, then the playoffs are just around the corner. The fantasy trade deadline won’t be until March 3, but the NBA trade deadline is coming up soon. You know what that means: stashing season.
Is it Alperen Sengun? Goga Bitadze? Chris Duarte? The mass-dropped Daniel Gafford? Or is it just Ben Simmons, who you’ve been stashing since draft day?
Whatever the case, let’s jump into the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 16 Weekly Planner, where you’ll find options for streaming, pickups, and teams to target and avoid.

Pickup of the Week
Thomas Bryant, C, Washington Wizards
Speaking of stashes, here’s a strong one. He’s freshly returned from an ACL injury that sidelined him for the majority of last season. However, he, unfortunately, has found himself in the middle of a dead-even timeshare with fellow centers Montrezl Harrell and Daniel Gafford.
Thomas Bryant has been averaging just 15 minutes in his last six games, posting per-36 numbers of 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks. Last season, we only got a glimpse at what the then-23-year-old center was capable of as he got off to a hot start to the season with incredible field goal percentages and limited turnovers.

His minutes are going to be slowly trending up. Should one of the centers on the Wizards get moved, Bryant stands to benefit the most. You can watch from afar and see what happens, but don’t be surprised if this hungry 24-year-old sees a second-half breakout right into the fantasy postseason.
Team to Target
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs are one of the biggest surprises of the 2021-22 season. They’re sitting on the 5th seed in the East with a record of 29-19 while weathering some seriously bad injury luck and staying in the playoff picture while doing so.
The season-ending injuries to guards Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio have smeared the perfect picture of a young, talented team destined for a playoff run, but to Darius Garland, that smear more resembles war paint. He’s 47th on the season and should be locked for a top 50 finish.

The Cavs are running into the Pelicans (23rd in defensive rating), the Rockets (30th), the Hornets (26th), and the Pacers (21st) in Week 16.
With the Lauri Markkanen injury, there’s a healthy surplus of streaming options on the Cavs. Managers can look to Isaac Okoro (9% rostered on Yahoo!) for points and steals, but those can be counted on with rocky percentages. Managers would also be wise to consider Cedi Osman (5%) for threes and points. And desperate managers could consider guys like Rajon Rondo (7%) or Dean Wade (1%) if they need…well, something.
Team to Avoid
Utah Jazz
The Jazz have the only two-game slate in Week 16. Rudy Gobert is looking at a non-serious calf injury, so there could be limited streaming upside opportunity for guys like Hassan Whiteside and Eric Paschall. Once Donovan Mitchell clears concussion protocols, Joe Ingles also clears any chance he has of fantasy relevance.
