2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 21 Drop List

Before we kick off the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 21 Drop List let’s take a look back at last week’s article to see what we got right and where we went wrong.

Since last week's article, what we thought would continue to happen has come to fruition. Conley, Harris, and Boucher have all continued to struggle and I don't see an end to the struggles in sight for any of them.

For Conley, it is just his age getting to him. Harris is struggling to adapt to his new role as the fourth option for the 76ers. As for Boucher, he is just proving to not be that impactful of a player. This has been shown by him not making an impact this year while with the Raptors who have been very thin in the frontcourt this whole season.

Gary Trent Jr, SG/SF,  Toronto Raptors (ESPN 75.9)

Player Rater 15: 0.50

Gary Trent Jr started this season off strong and was a major contributor early on for a Raptors team that was missing some key contributors. After the season got underway and more of those missing pieces made their way back into the lineup Trent Jr's numbers started to suffer a bit. According to the player rater, 15 Trent Jr is splitting positive and negative value categories four and four. He has two categories where he provides more than 1.00 points of value.

Those would be three-pointers made where he has provided 1.45 points of value and steals where he has provided 2.05 points of value. The issue is that the steals number has been propped up by a five-steal game that Trent Jr had just over a week ago. Most of the time he is getting around one steal a game. So I see his value dropping a bit and right now I don't see him providing enough that I would want him on my fantasy playoff roster.

Marvin Bagley, PF,  Detroit Pistons (46.2)

Player Rater 15: -2.30

Marvin Bagley got the change of scenery that he was looking for at the trade deadline this season. Unfortunately, since the trade, he has gotten more minutes but it hasn't translated into meaningful contributions fantasy-wise. According to the player rater, 15 Bagley only has one category where he is producing positive value.

That category would be field goal percentage. He is only producing a score of 0.76 according to the player rater 15 in that category as well. Bagley might have some upside going forward, but that upside isn't likely to be realized until next season when he has an offseason with his new team under his belt. With the fantasy basketball playoffs starting in many leagues next week, Bagley isn't someone you should be looking to roster going into the playoffs.

Mo Bamba, C,  Orlando Magic (59.7)

Player Rater 15: -0.91

Mo Bamba much like Gary Trent Jr started this season off strong but has started to taper off as the season has gone on. While Bamba still provides some good value in the rebounds and blocks categories, he has lost a lot of the value that he provided at the beginning of the year in the three-pointers made category.

As of now according to the player rater 15 Bamba is providing negative value in five of the eight categories. That is just not someone that you can have on a playoff roster unless their positive categories are providing massive value. Unfortunately for Bama that is not the case and you should look elsewhere when filling out your playoff roster.
