2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 24 Waiver Wire

Welcome one and all, new readers and returning readers, to the 2021-22 Fantasy Basketball Week 24 Waiver Wire!

I hope you all are staying safe and enjoying your daily dose of sports! The playoffs are upon us, and fantasy owners will be on the lookout for players who can give them the edge they need.

Before we get into the must-have waiver wire adds, let's look at the studs and duds of the week.

Stud: Kristaps Porzingis, PF/C, Washington Wizards

Ever since being traded to Washington, Kristaps Porzingis seems like a new man. With Bradley Beal out for the season, Porzingis is the main scorer on an otherwise mediocre Wizards team. He has three double-doubles in his last five games, and four 20 point performances in that span as well. He is demonstrating the considerable talent he possesses when he can stay healthy. The Wizards have finally locked in another member of their core to help Beal.

Dud: Brandon Williams, PG, Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers have been absolutely ravaged by injuries, forcing unexpected players into large roles. Williams has seen significant playing time, and was producing for a while. However, his level of play has dropped over the past week. Performances including 2-10, 6-17, 3-13, and 1-10 have cratered his value. He will continue to see plenty of opportunities in the last games of the season, but will be too inconsistent to trust.

Take a look at last week's waiver wire post to make sure you are cleaning up on the boards! Without further ado, time to see who you need to add to your Fantasy rosters!

Obi Toppin, PF, New York Knicks

With Julius Randle out the last few games due to a quad injury, Toppin has stepped into a starters role and excelled. In each start, he has scored at least 10 points and seven rebounds. He even has nine assists in that span, an unexpected bonus for the big man. He even had an 18 point, 11 rebound double-double against the Hornets, his best performance in a long time. Take advantage of this opportunity and snap him up for as long as Randle misses time.

Dwight Powell, C, Dallas Mavericks

Powell has been picking up his play over the last week, with three consecutive double-digit scoring games. He has scored in double-digits in five of his last six games as well. He has been a consistent starter for the Mavs, but his production was minimal until now. His rebound and points totals have increased over the past week, and he is good for a few blocks here and there as well. Just ride the wave until it crashes. He will be a good utility player for the back end of your rosters.

Danilo Gallinari, SF/PF, Atlanta Hawks

Gallinari has seen a drop off in his play compared to previous seasons but has recently started to heat up. He put up 27 points last Sunday, and dropped 25 on Friday. His rebounding numbers are solid, and he is good for three to four assists per game. As long as he is scoring, he is worth a pickup in your leagues. As is the case with Powell, just simply enjoy the ride for however long it lasts.
