2021 Dynasty Baseball Prospect Profile: Logan T. Allen

In this week's 2021 Dynasty Baseball Prospect Profile, we take a look at Logan T Allen, a budding pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization that could move through the farm system quickly on his path to the majors.

Allen has a very high floor as a pitcher because of his command, control, and his mix of 3 quality pitches. As long as he stays healthy, he is almost guaranteed to be in the middle of the Indians' future starting rotation.

Keep an eye on this kid's development. The Indians have a great record of developing pitchers.

Logan T Allen was drafted by the Indians in 2020 with their 2nd round pick at 56th overall. He is a left-handed starting pitcher with a 3-pitch mix. His 3 pitches are all above average, but his best pitch is currently his change-up. This 22-year-old currently stands at 6 feet tall and 180 pounds.

Allen has already had a great and scorching start to the 2021 MiLB season. Can he follow in the footsteps of great Cleveland pitching prospects like Trevor Bauer, CC Sabathia, and Bartolo Colon?

Fastball

Allen's fastball averages around 90-93 mph. While his fastball might not set radars on fire, he has a very good command of it. Due to his command and extension, Logan has an above-average fastball. The guy paints.

Logan T Allen might be able to add more velocity as he gets older. Even if Logan is not able to add more velocity, he is still effective where he is at.

Curveball

Logan T Allen's third-best pitch is his curveball. His curveball is still about average, but there is some potential for growth.

Logan can place his curveball wherever at any point, similar to his control with his fastball and change-up. He still needs to work on his curveball's movement more, but it is still a quality pitch.

Change-up

Logan T Allen's best pitch is his change-up. The change-up has nice movement to go along with great command over the pitch.

It is an above-average change-up that helps to keep hitters guessing. He can place the change-up at any spot at any time.

Command/Control

If you have had the chance to see him pitch, you know Logan T Allen's biggest strength is his command and control. He has a very nice repeatable delivery with good arm extension for his shorter height which helps him to deceive batters.

His dominant command and control also give him a very high floor to where he should make his way to the MLB fairly quickly. He can place the ball anywhere in or out of the zone whenever he wants with all 3 of his pitches.
