In this week's edition of 2021 Dynasty Baseball Prospect Profile, I breakdown one of the Padres top prospects, Robert Hassell III. Hassell is an outfielder with a height of 6 feet 2 inches with a weight of 190 pounds. Most people lean towards Zac Veen being the top high school hitter from last year's draft class, but I believe it is Robert Hassell III. The Padres traded a ton in the off-season, yet made sure to hold onto guys like CJ Abrams and Robert Hassell III.
This kid can hit. Hassell needs to fill out more and gain more power, but he can hit. He has an above average hit tool with below average power that should develop into average power as he gets older and fills out more. Hassell is a potential 20/20 player.

Hit Tool
Robert Hassell III is an advanced, athletic hitter at the plate. He has a patient approach and good plate discipline. Hassell constantly gets raved about with his work ethic as well. Due to his makeup at the plate, this kid should hit for a high average and get on base plenty.
Robert has a nice swing. He also has quick enough bat speed to where he can catch up with the majority of pitches. Hassell drives the ball all over the field. If the MLB gets rid of shifting as they hinted they might, Hassell will be a lot more dangerous of a hitter, especially in the stacked Padres lineup with the All-Stars he will be surrounded by.
Power
Nearly every player has at least one weakness. Hassell's weakness is his power. Keep in mind that he is still extremely young, so he should fill out more. He has the potential to be a 20+ home run guy annually, but until he fills out more he currently projects for closer to 15 dingers.
With the amount everyone around him gratifies Hassell on being a hard worker, this kid should eventually fill out and gain more muscle to become a 20 home run guy. The Padres invited him to spring training where he had a decent performance for his age, so he already looks worth it as the first high school player drafted from this most recent draft.

Speed
This kid is quick. He gets a good jump and has enough speed in the outfield to be a prototypical center fielder. Hassell is somewhat aggressive on the base paths, so he should be a 20 steal guy regularly.
The Padres have a lot of future speed on their roster with Fernando Tatis Jr.and CJ Abrams, yet Hassell provides another weapon. The Padres will be a fun team to watch for a while with the amount of talent they have.
