IDP Waiver Wire Targets

Blake Lynch and Nick Vigil, LB, Minnesota Vikings

Lynch is someone to keep an eye on should Eric Kendricks miss more time. Whereas Nick Vigil is the one to target if Anthony Barr misses more time.

Azeez Al-Shaair, LB, San Francisco 49ers

Al-Shaair is someone to monitor if Fred Warner is set to miss more time. In the LB1 role, he was an absolute stud this week.

I’m not a huge fan of having to monitor situations for a guy to be relevant but in this case and on the cusp of the playoffs I’m willing to put up with it.

Germaine Pratt, LB, Cincinnati Bengals

Unfortunately, the breakout IDP Logan Wilson is set to miss time with a dislocated shoulder. However, this lends you an opportunity to obtain what should be a plug and play option at linebacker.

Jayron Kearse, DB, Dallas Cowboys

Since the Week 7 Bye Week Kearse has been on an absolute tear. And because of Micah Parsons being the star of that defense he’s gotten very little coverage.

He’s bringing a pretty safe tackle floor and provides a bit of impact play upside.

Drue Tranquil or Kyzir White, LB, Los Angeles Chargers

Drue Tranquil and Kyzir White have completely supplanted Kenneth Murray of any role on this defense. The former first-round pick only garnered eight snaps this week.

Both players are seeing significant work and can be relied on in all scoring formats. White is DB eligible on Sleeper for what it’s worth.

Rasul Douglas, CB, Green Bay Packers

I don’t normally talk corners, but here we are. While Green Bay gets the Bye this week Douglas can help you in the long run.

With Jaire Alexander still on the mend, and Kevin King being Kevin King, Douglas has seen meaningful reps since Week 6. And he hasn’t really disappointed in that stretch.

Being a Packer fan I hope he continues to see reps after Alexander returns and we leave Kevin King on the bench.

Rashan Gary, DL, Green Bay Packers

Alright Bob you’ve officially turned this into a Packers’ waiver wire. No, I’m just seeing way too much Rashan Gary out on the wires right now for how good he’s been this season.

I’m not willing to call this a breakout. I know some will tout this as such. I don’t believe he’d be having the season he is if Za’Darius Smith was healthy.

There’s the possibility that it’s really Preston Smith filling in for Za’Darius and Gary was always destined to have this larger role.

Either way, I think we’re still scratching the surface of what Gary can be. He should not be on the wire in Dynasty leagues especially.

Eric Murray, DB, Houston Texans

This one is plain and simple. Heading into the Bye Week Murray was given the starting strong safety spot.

On a pretty poor defense with meh linebackers, he’s going to see decent work week in week out, much like he did this week. He’s likely a DB3/4 at worst going forward.

Robert Quinn, DL, Chicago Bears

When healthy Robert Quinn has been a stud this season, yet due to his age and some inconsistency he’s still widely available.

Looking at his matchups throughout the rest of the season they are rather favorable for the DL position. Stock up now, and lock up the DL position for the playoffs.

Alex Singleton, LB, Philadelphia Eagles

There’s nothing I think I hate more than how this Eagles’ LB room has panned out this season.

While Singletons’ “expanded role” is due to Davion Taylor getting injured and shifted to IR after being gifted a larger role, this carousel is beyond frustrating.

I couldn’t blame you if you wanted to avoid this situation in its entirety. T.J. Edwards has been a solid piece and should be looked for on waivers if he’s still available.

Kamu Grugier-Hill, LB, Houston Texans

Kamu has turned into a reliable piece of this Texans defense when it comes to IDP purposes. While I don’t love him long-term he should be just what you need to push your linebacker room over the hump through the playoffs.
