Stock Up

Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Fantasy managers have been waiting for the emergence of Rashaad Penny as a fantasy contributor for what seems to have been forever. Penny has shown flashes of being a difference-maker out of the backfield. Unfortunately, he has spent more time off the field dealing with a multitude of injuries throughout his four-year career.

With the Seattle Seahawks using everyone they can find to play running back this season, Penny finally exploded in Week 14. If you were lucky and brave enough to have Penny in your lineup, you were generously awarded. Penny finished with 16 rushes for 137 yards and two scores in the Seahawks 33-13 win over the Houston Texans. Granted, it was against the Texans who every player seems to have their breakout game against but still, it was great to see Penny take advantage of his opportunity.

Now, let's see him stay on the field, Penny could be a league winner for fantasy managers in the upcoming weeks.

Hunter Renfrow, WR, Las Vegas Raiders

Speaking of league-winners, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is quietly having a good season. Renfrow has been on fire in the last three weeks.

With the losses to the weapons in the Raiders offense, Renfrow has been a savior for David Carr who doesn't seem to trust any of his weapons besides Renfrow. His career season has given fantasy managers a secret elite option at wideout in ppr leagues. Renfrow is the WR6 since his Week 9 bye and is a WR2 for fantasy managers as we kick off into the playoffs.

Stock Down

James Robinson, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

James Robinson won plenty of fantasy managers their championships last season. Robinson was the best waiver wire pickup of the season, scoring ten total touchdowns and rushing for 1,070 yards for a Jacksonville Jaguars team that won only one game.

The Jaguars brass thought it would be a great idea to bring in former Florida Gator Urban Meyer back to coaching and give him his first NFL head coaching job. How is that working out so far? Well, at least the Jaguars have surpassed their win total from last season with two wins so far this season. Meyer has lost the team and they are starting to revolt. He looks like one and done in Jacksonville.

One of the most curious moves that Meyer kicked off his NFL coaching career with is selecting running back Travis Etienne in the draft. While Etienne is a talented back, the Jaguars already had Robinson who made himself a dependable workhorse back and wasn't costing the team anything. Unfortunately, Etienne suffered a Lisfranc injury in August and was lost for the entire 2021 season.

Robinson is listed with his stock down primarily for somehow being in Meyer's doghouse. His playing time has been drastically cut for whatever reason. The circus in Jacksonville is not good for anyone even a running back averaging 4.8 yards per carry with seven touchdowns. It's hard to depend on Robinson when you have no clue what Meyer will do next.

Julio Jones, WR, Tennesee Titans

Julio Jones (hamstring) returned from the injured list in Week 14 and if you were hoping that Jones would possibly provide a boost in your fantasy lineup, you were quite disappointed. In fact, Jones has been a huge disappointment this season. In seven games with his new team, the Tennessee Titans, Jones has failed to score a touchdown and produced only one 100-yard game.

Granted, Jones has suffered through injuries this season and the Titans offense has been hit significantly with injuries to Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown, but Jones has not displayed any semblance of the wideout he was with the Atlanta Falcons. Sadly, we may never see anything close to that type of production where he had a run of six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
