2021 Fantasy Football Week 16 Vampire League Starters

Welcome to the 2021 Fantasy Football Week 16 Vampire League Starters article!

Thanks to Brandin Cooks and Travis Kelce's big games, I advanced to the next round of the playoffs and got Deebo Samuel as my prize for the victory. He will be a great help since I'm losing half my team due to COVID (Austin Ekeler, Travis Kelce, Brandin Cooks, and Tyler Lockett).

I hope you were successful in your first playoff matchup. Now let's work our way to a championship!

Quarterback

Drew Lock, Denver Broncos

Teddy Bridgewater is out against the Raiders in Week 16, which means gun-slinging Drew Lock will be under center for the Broncos.

Lock has put up some decent matchups against the Raiders in the past, averaging 258 yards and 1.3 touchdowns. In his last game against the Raiders, he had 339 yards and two touchdowns and should have a repeat performance against them this season.

The Raiders allow 17.6 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season.

Side Note: IF Jared Goff returns from the COVID list in time for the game on Sunday, I suggest starting him over Lock.

Running Backs

Justin Jackson, Los Angeles Chargers

Austin Ekeler is officially on the COVID IL, making Justin Jackson the lead dog in Los Angeles if Ekeler is a "no go."

Jackson has a great matchup against the Texans, who allow 26.2 fantasy points per game to running backs this season.

Despite getting the majority of the Texans carries, he has failed to crack over 50 rushing yards, but maybe his matchup against the Chargers.

The Chargers allow 26.5 fantasy points, 114.6 yards, and 1.1 touchdowns per game to running backs.

Wide Receivers

Marquez Callaway, New Orleans Saints

Callaway had a breakout game against the Buccaneers with six receptions and 112 yards. He should hopefully continue this breakout into Week 16 against the Dolphins.

This season, the Dolphins allow 37.4 fantasy points, 172 yards, and one touchdown per game to wide receivers. Plus, they are allowing 9.3 targets and 63.8 yards per game to wide receiver ones this season.

Nico Collins, Houston Texans

As previously mentioned, Brandin Cooks is heading to the COVID list, which makes Nico Collins the number one guy in Houston.

He has a tough matchup with the Chargers, who only allow 28.8 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. But the Texans will likely be playing from behind the whole game, leading to Collins being a target machine.

Tight End

Evan Engram, New York Giants

Engram has averaged five targets per game and now has the perfect matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles allow the most fantasy points to tight ends this season. They allow 18.1 fantasy points per game to tight ends. They allow 8.4 targets and 67.9 yards per game to tight ends this season.

Engram should be a "week" winner in Week 16.

Flex

Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers

Over the past two weeks, Jennings has earned quite a few targets, averaging 5.5 targets and walking away with a touchdown. In Week 16, he has a great matchup against the Titans.

The Titans allow 41 fantasy points, 190.7 yards, and 1.1 touchdowns per game to wide receivers.

Jennings is a risky flex option but can be a boom candidate that takes you to a championship!

Defense/Special Teams

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have a great matchup against the Lions, who could possibly be without Jared Goff.

The Lion's offense allows 7.7 fantasy points to defenses this season, and you know that will be higher if Tim Boyle is under center.
