2021 Fantasy Football Week 2 Quarterback Streamers

Even in arguably the most consistent position in fantasy football, things happen. Tyrod Taylor, Jameis Winston, and Jared Goff went off in Week 1. Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and Justin Herbert? Eh not so much. Top quarterbacks will bounce back, like Rodgers and Herbert.

But what if you need some help at quarterback? If you feel like you’re in a bind, you’re in luck. I’ve got some 2021 Fantasy Football Week 2 Quarterback Streamers coming to the rescue.

All of these quarterbacks are ranked at or below Fantasy Pros QB16 ECR (Expert Consensus Ranking).

Most are owned in 40% or less of leagues. Jameis Winston is the highest owned QB on my list at 45% rostered on Yahoo, so he is still widely available.

Top Streamers

Teddy Bridgewater vs Jaguars

I remember back in 2014 when a fantasy writer had Brian Hoyer as a streamer saying he was “solid, but unspectacular”. That phrase has stuck with me. Now obviously I expect Teddy to have a better year than 2014 Hoyer, but if you think about it, he’s solid but unspectacular.

You won’t get the Kyler Murray/Pat Mahomes games, but he’s a safe and reliable play. Bridgewater gets the pleasure of facing the Jaguars this week. Tyrod Taylor just took this Jacksonville defense to the woodshed. Given this matchup, I wouldn’t hesitate to add Teddy B and playing him.

Jameis Winston vs Panthers

I don’t think Winston will repeat his 5 TD performance, but he’s a solid play this week. Jets rookie QB Zach Wilson scored over 19 fantasy points against the Panthers on Sunday. Winston has more NFL experience than Wilson, and the Saints are a better team than the Jets.

Hopefully, the Panthers keep it close enough that Winston will pass more. 250-300 yards and 2 TD isn’t out of the question. He also rushed for 37 yards last week, so there’s some rushing upside as well.

Mac Jones vs Jets

After facing a good Dolphins defensive unit in his first NFL start, Jones gets a softer matchup against the Jets. He has a good group of receivers and tight ends surrounding him, that certainly helps. He completed 74 percent of his passes and had a respectable 7.2 yards per attempt against Miami.

New York was one of the worst pass defenses last year, and they routinely left Panthers pass catchers open in week 1 (in other words, not much has changed). A high completion percentage QB with good pass catchers against a defense that leaves people open? Jones might have some sneaky upside this week. Sign me up.

Super Deep/2 QB Leagues

Andy Dalton vs Bengals

Now that you’re done gagging, hear me out. The Rams shut down the entire Bears offense, except for David Montgomery. And they’ll probably continue to shut down opponents this season. The Bengals’ defense is not the Rams’ defense, so I think Dalton is a bounce-back candidate.

In his last 7 games with the Cowboys last year, Dalton averaged nearly 18 fantasy points a game. The danger with starting Dalton is Justin Fields is waiting to pounce.

However, Matt Nagy likes to make promises to people regardless if it’s a good or bad idea, and so far it seems Dalton is starting. He’s a play in very deep leagues if you need a floor play to get you through.

I hope we were able to find you a quarterback in this 2021 Fantasy Football Week 2 Quarterback Streamers article for your lineup this week! Go get that win!
