2021 Fantasy Football Week 5 IDP Rankings

on

Welcome back for a look at my 2021 Fantasy Football Week 5 IDP Rankings! We’re getting into the thick of the season, and it’s an important week as it’s the last one before Bye Weeks start rolling in!

Before hopping into the rankings I’m going to discuss some stud players that have been disappointments thus far, as well as take a glance at some injury news!

If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out my Week 5 IDP Waiver Wire! I’m sure there are still some valuable players out on that Waiver Wire!

Be sure to check back in throughout the week. These will be updated prior to kick-off on Thursday night, as well as no later than Sunday morning. I’ll also update as needed when injuries roll in.

Let’s dive into my 2021 Fantasy Football Week 5 IDP Rankings!

My Thoughts Heading Into Week 5

Studs Or Duds?

As you may end up noticing some of the “stud players” are a lot lower in these ranks than they have been in the past. I’ve reevaluated my process some.

Now I’m taking more of what’s transpired so far this season, thrown out the projections I had coming into the season, and thrown out previous seasons’ performance as well.

Guys like Devin White, Jeremy Chinn, and Chase Young along with many others have left a bad taste in our mouths to start the season. And it’s quite an anomaly as to why.

However, until they turn it around, they will be very low in my ranks. Name value be damned. For more insight on my thought process, check me out on YouTube after you check out the Rankings.

Injury Updates

Shaq Thompson, LB, Carolina Panthers

Thompson is set to undergo an MRI for a foot injury. Could this injury be what Jeremy Chinn needs to be relevant again?

Jessie Bates, S, Cincinnati Bengals

Bates is questionable for Week 5 with a neck injury. Monitor practice status throughout the week.

Trevon Diggs, CB, Dallas Cowboys

Left Week 4 with a back injury, questionable for this week. I expect the NFL Interception Leader to be ready

Zach Cunningham, LB, Houston Texans

He missed Week 4 on the COVID Reserve. There’s a good amount of time to get a negative test, but I’d temper expectations upon his return. If he misses more time, Kamu Grugier-Hill and Christian Kirksey both receive upgrades.

Kenneth Murray, LB, Los Angeles Chargers

Murray has been shifted to IR with an ankle injury. He’s set to miss at least two more weeks. In that time Drue Tranquill and Kyzir White get a bump in value.

Jason Pierre-Paul, DL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

As long as JPP is out, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka deserves starting consideration in deeper formats.

Antoine Winfield, S, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Set to miss this week with a concussion. Prepare to be without Winfield this week.

Jon Bostic, LB, Washington Football Team

Bostic getting shifted to IR with a pectoral injury opens up more playing time for Jamin Davis.
