2021 Fantasy Football Week 5 IDP Waiver Wire

Welcome back for a look at my 2021 Fantasy Football Week 5 IDP Waiver Wire! While another week comes and goes it's important to pick your shots when making your waiver wire moves!

I'm here to break down some of the best players I'm seeing out on the wire RIGHT now that you should consider adding to your squad.

Be sure to check out Week 2, Week 3, and Week 4 of my Waiver Wire installments, as there are still great players from those lists available in all sorts of league formats.

This list will probably be shorter than most because I'm not going to hype up players I don't believe in like Anthony Barr, just because he's set to return from injury.

I'm also going to try to bring you an original list of players each week, as opposed to talking about the same players each week.

Check back on Week 2 and Week 3, because I guarantee there are worthwhile options there for you too.

Without further ado, let's get right to it.

High Priority Targets

Quincy Williams, LB/DB, New York Jets

Over the last two weeks, it's been Williams racking up the tackles and the big plays. He seems to have carved out a decent role on this defense.

The bonus factor here is that on sleeper he's DB and LB eligible. Which in my opinion makes him a must-add if you're in need of a DB.

Jamin Davis, LB, Washington Football Team

After a pectoral injury to veteran Jon Bostic, it seems as though Jamin Davis is set to get the start at linebacker.

This is pretty much exactly what needed to happen for Davis to get into the game.

Which, is obviously concerning in regards to the real-life impact, seeing that the team didn't believe he was ready to shoulder the load yet.

Either way, if Davis is out there you can probably slot him in as a low-end LB2.

Medium Priority Targets

Drue Tranquill/Kyzir White, LB, Los Angeles Chargers

Personally, I'm going to side with Tranquill here as my preference, but both are worth a look.

With Kenneth Murray being out at least two more weeks with an ankle injury, someone has to make tackles on this defense.

Both of these players have served well in expanded roles in the past, and can probably be utilized as LB3s while Murray is out.

Jaelan Phillips, DL, Miami Dolphins

It took him a while to get his shot, but it seems it's finally here and Phillips is set to make the most of it.

After seeing an increased snap share last week, he matched that snap share and made it count notching a half-sack and a couple of tackles.

He's not exploding yet, but he's set to face a slew of good matchups throughout the season. Now's a good time to add, especially if you have the room.

Low Priority Targets

Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, DL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This guy is a bit lower of a priority just because I'm not sure how much work he'll end up with one Jason Pierre-Paul returns. However, in limited action, I think he's earned more work.

On tape, he's looked like an absolute beast on this defensive line, and it's allowed them to use Shaq Barrett more in off-ball coverage and run defense.

Pete Werner, LB, New Orleans Saints

This one chalk up to a good opportunity going forward. He seems to have wrangled a role away from Zach Baun, or perhaps there's an injury. Either way, he's seeing more reps and being quite efficient with them.
