on

Welcome everyone to the 2021 Fantasy Football Week 7 Injury Impact article. In this article, I will be going over the most impactful injuries that went down this week.

It was a relatively quiet week for us, Fantasy players. There weren’t any Fantasy-damaging injuries, but we didn’t come away from the week unscathed.

That should do it for the introduction. Let’s jump into the 2021 Fantasy Football Week 7 Injury Impact article.

Coming Into Week 7…

I will go over those injuries here shortly, but first, I need to talk about the injuries we had coming into week seven.

Nick Chubb (Calf), as we all know, missed Thursday’s night game. This was his second game missed, and it could be another game or two before he comes back.

In his place (along with Kareem Hunt), D’ Ernest Johnson was terrific in the Brown’s win over the Broncos. He rushed the ball 22 times for 146 yards and one touchdown.

Johnson also caught both of his targets for 22 yards. D’ Ernest should be picked up in all formats as long as Chubb and Hunt are out. Touche to you if you started him Thursday.

As for the other inactive players before their Week seven games, Antonio Brown (Ankle) could be back next week, so monitor the situation. Chris Godwin (11 targets/8-111 1 TD) and Mike Evans (10 targets/6-76 3 TD’s) absolutely dominated the Bears, along with the targets from Tom Brady.

Expect a lot more of that if Antonio Brown is out for a few more weeks. Darren Waller (Knee/Ankle) was not able to suit up for Sunday’s game. Please monitor the situation moving forward. Foster Moreau (6 targets/6-60 1 TD), might be worth a pick-up if Waller misses any more time.

Sterling Shepard (Hamstring), Kenny Golladay (Knee), and Kadarius Toney (Ankle) were all inactive for Sunday’s game. This left Darius Slayton as the go-to guy, and he was able to put up 11 Fantasy points. Hopefully, the Giants can get the pass-catchers healthy here shortly.

Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles – Ankle (TBD)

Miles Sanders left Sunday’s game in the first half with an ankle injury. On the replay, it didn’t look great, and it was enough for him to be carted off to the locker room.

Expect Sanders to miss a couple of weeks, maybe even more. We will know more when he gets his MRI in the coming days, so monitor the situation.

Miles Sanders wasn’t great this year, but his injury should have a significant impact if he were to miss multiple weeks.

In his place, Kenneth Gainwell had a solid Fantasy day. He rushed the ball five times for 20 yards and caught four of his eight targets for 41 yards and one touchdown.

Expect to see a lot of Gainwell, with a sprinkle of Boston Scott (7-24 1 TD). Oh Yeah! Don’t forget, you will see a lot more running from Jalen Hurts (13-61) as well.

Josh Jacobs, RB, Las Vegas Raiders – Chest (TBD)

Josh Jacobs left the field right before halftime and never came back in the second half. He was diagnosed with a chest injury. Before leaving, Jacobs rushed the ball six times for 29 yards and had one touchdown.

He also caught all three of his targets for 39 yards. Monitor this injury moving forward, as he could end up missing a week.

If Jacobs were to miss time, expect Kenyan Drake to handle most of the backfield touches. He had 17 touches for 79 yards and one touchdown on Sunday.

You will also see a little bit of Jalen Richard (seven touches for 25 yards) moving forward as well. Do not go and pick up Jalen Richard.

New York Is Cursed

It doesn’t matter what team it is, they can’t catch a break in New York.

Zach Wilson, QB, New York Jets – Knee (TBD)

Zach Wilson (6/10 51 yards) took quite a few shots in Sunday’s game, and they ended up taking their toll on him. He ended up leaving the game with a knee injury.

Zach Wilson is going to be missing time, the MRI will show just how long he will miss. In his place, Mike White went 20/32 for 202 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

I expect the Jets to go get a QB from free agency. If they don’t, expect a downgrade to the whole Jets’ offense. Michael Carter (9 targets/8 catches for 67 yards) might have some value, along with Corey Davis (4-47 1 TD). Other than that, leave the Jets’ players on the waiver wire.

Jonnu Smith, TE, New England Patriots – Shoulder (TBD)

Jonnu Smith left the game with a shoulder injury. Please monitor this situation moving forward if you have him on your team. This injury will just open up more opportunities for Hunter Henry (2-23 1 TD).

That should do it for the 2021 Fantasy Football Week 7 Injury Impact article. I hope you come back next week.
