2021 Fantasy Hockey Rankings

Welcome to the 2021 Fantasy Hockey Rankings. Congratulations Hockey is back. And so is the fastest fantasy sport.

As you know the first day of training camp is underway. With many of you are also very excited to get back into the hockey season, now it's time to draft your NHL fantasy teams.

Last year's Bubble madness

Last year was surely unique. Remember the bubble. Yeah, that was a thing. And it was crazy. It was Bubble madness

We had two of the bubble home teams get knocked out very early. Shout out to the Oilers and Leafs. Thanks for letting the NHL use your barns.

No fans either. Wow. Hockey is a crazy emotional game. The players feed off of the crowd.  But no one was there.  It was all virtual.

New Format

We also saw the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Dallas Stars.  The stars haven't been to the finals since 1999.  And the Lightning always had the team to be great.  But that would change.  As they finally lifted the cup after so much heartache.

Now, this is not a typical hockey season. The league divided up the 31 teams into four divisions. North, Central, East, and West. Each of these teams only plays each other. They will also play 56 games instead of playing the normal 82 game schedule.

In the North, we have Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto.

The Central is composed of Florida, Tampa, Carolina, Nashville, Detroit, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas.

Now in the West, we have St Louis, Colorado, Arizona, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Los Vegas, San Jose, Minnesota.

And lastly, the East Division is Boston, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh, Washington, Philadelphia, Buffalo, and New Jersey.

So like I said. This is going to be an interesting year. With these new divisions and only playing 56 games and all. Including all of the Covid pandemic protocols, the league has put into place.  It will be a unique season for hockey fans.

Below are my draft rankings as the teams open camp.  My advice is to try all of the leagues.  And of course, have fun, it is just a game by the way.
