2021 Fantasy Hockey Week 2 Planner

Welcome to the 2021 Fantasy Hockey Week 2 Planner.

Of course, we must start with how Covid-19 has impacted the season already. The Stars were forced to postpone their first two games.

The Capitals and Hurricanes are being impacted as well. The Hurricanes have had to postpone games all this past week. Meanwhile, the Capitals were fined for breaking protocol and will have their stars miss a couple of games.

On a more positive note, there was a big trade this weekend. Patrik Laine and Pierre-Luc Dubois were swapped. See my Twitter thread for my thoughts on this.

2021 Fantasy Hockey Week 2 Planner

The NHL starts the week off with one game on the slate. Monday night’s game features two Canadian teams that are sixth and seventh in the Canadian division. And both teams’ defense is very porous.

Ottawa Senators play the Canucks in Vancouver. These two teams then play a back to back on Wednesday and Thursday. The Senators finish the week in Edmonton to play the Oilers on  Sunday night.

After three games at home Vancouver plays their fourth and final game on the road. They travel east to face off against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Winnipeg Jets only play two games this week. And luckily they are both at home. However, these two games are going to be tough. On Tuesday they will face off against the Edmonton Oilers. The Jets end their week on Saturday versus the Vancouver Canucks

There are five more teams that only play two games. These teams include Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, Arizona Coyotes, and Los Angeles Kings also have two games this week.

Teams With Three Games

These teams play three games this week. The Penguins and the Bruins battle Tuesday and Thursday this week. Tampa Bay plays at Carolina twice and then at home in Nashville.  Washington has three home games this week. Two against the Islanders and one against the predators. Toronto and the New York Rangers also play three games this week

The Chicago Blackhawks defense has allowed 15 goals in the first three games. The Hawks begin their week on the road. With a back to back tilt with the Predators in Nashville on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then the Hawks fly home to face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday and Sunday.

The Predators find themselves with an easy matchup in the beginning of the week. The Blackhawks allow the most goals against on average. That’s the worst in the league. However, Saturday’s opponent is the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning.  One of the top two teams in the league.  Quite a step up in competition.

Teams With Four Games

Finally, there are the last ten teams.  Which play a Tuesday and Thursday and a Saturday and Sunday back to back. Those team’s include

  • Anaheim Ducks
  • Buffalo Sabres
  • Carolina Hurricanes
  • Colorado Avalanche
  • Dallas Stars
  • Detroit Red Wings
  • Edmonton Oilers
  • Florida Panthers
  • New Jersey Devils
  • Minnesota Wild
  • St Louis Blues

I hope this helps your fantasy team.  Knowing the back to backs allows you to have streaming options throughout the week.
