2021 NFL DFS Week 2 FanDuel Picks

Welcome readers!  I hope you enjoy my 2021 NFL DFS FanDuel Week 2 Picks.

Boy did we have a great start and finish to the first week of the NFL. The Thursday night game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was excited, to say the least. Tom Brady looks like he could play until he’s 50 putting up 379 yards and four touchdowns.

Also, it was great to see Dak Prescott out there not only playing but playing well. With 403 yards and 3 touchdowns he almost pulled off the upset.

Monday night was just as thrilling. The Las Vegas Raiders went up against the Baltimore Ravens. The Raiders did not roll over in this back and forth game. Derek Carr threw for 435 yards and two touchdowns. Carr looked for his big tight end on almost every play. Darren Waller put up 105 yards and a touchdown on 10 catches (19 targets!). But it was a fumble by Lamar Jackson that led to a Raiders overtime win.

But Week 1 is over, and Week 2 just finished with a thriller in our Nation’s Captial between the Washington Football Team and the New York Football Giants.

Here are my picks for this week’s main slate.

Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons – $6,700

Life without Julio Jones did not get off to a great start, but this could be a bounce-back game for Matty Ice. Dak Prescott was able to throw all over this Tampa Bay defense, and I suspect that Ryan can do the same. With the high-powered Tampa Bay offense, the Falcons will rely on the arm Ryan to keep them in the game. Ryan has not forgotten how to play Quarterback, and this Sunday he will prove it.

FanDuel outlook:

Ryan is projected for over 16 points by Fantasy Six Pack. Tampa is very good against the run, but they can be beaten in the air. Ryan will adjust and get on the same page as Calvin Ridley. When that happens these two will be DFS gold.

Other QBs I like: Russell Wilson ($8,500), Justin Herbert ($7,600), Baker Mayfield ($7,100)

David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears – $7,300

Montgomery had a great start to the season. He rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on just 16 carries. It was a negative game script for Montgomery, as the Rams were up early. This is a very winnable game for the Bears. The Bears are a run-first team, so Montgomery should see a lot of action in this game.

FanDuel outlook:

Montgomery is projected for over 15 points by Fantasy Six Pack. The Bears did not complete a pass over 15 yards against the Rams. Matt Nagy does not trust his quarterback, Andy Dalton, with the ball. Look for the running game to come up big.

Other RBs I like: Nick Chubb ($8,400), Joe Mixon ($7,800), Kareem Hunt ($5,700)

Antonio Brown, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – $6,400

This is no secret that Tom Brady loves Brown. Brady lobbied for him to be signed when he played for the New England Patriots, and he also lobbied for him to be signed to the Bucs. Their great chemistry was on full display with a long bomb touchdown in the second. Brown had five receptions on seven targets with 121 yards and a touchdown. He could repeat those numbers this Sunday.

FanDuel outlook:

Brown is projected for over 12 points by Fantasy Six Pack. Brown has massive upside, as he is a downfield threat. The Falcons do not have the personnel to cover Brown, Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Bruce Arians does not like to play it safe. Look for Brady to go deep to Brown two or three times in this game.

Other WRs I like: Keenan Allen ($7,400), Tyler Lockett ($7,200), Jarvis Landry ($6,800)

Jared Cook, TE, Los Angeles Chargers – $5,400

When picking a tight end, you are looking for one that could get in the endzone. Well, this is the player and this is the matchup. The Cowboys defense is bad, and it got worse this week with DeMarcus Lawrence heading to the IR. The Cowboys will not keep the Chargers out of the red zone, so expect a lot of targets coming Cook’s way.

FanDuel outlook:

Cook is projected for almost eight points by Fantasy Six Pack. Rob Gronkowski was able to torch the Cowboys for eight receptions, 90 yards and two touchdowns. Cook might not have those numbers but he can get close. Cook had eight targets in the win against the Washington Football Team. Look for him to see the same if not more targets in the game against Dallas.

Other TEs I like: Darren Waller ($7,000), Rob Gronkowski ($5,800), Tyler Higbee ($5,600)
