2021 NFL DFS Week 5 FanDuel Picks

2021-22 NFL DFS Conference Championship Weekend FanDuel Picks

Welcome back, readers!

New York football fans can rejoice as both teams won in Week 4. Both teams went into overtime to get their first win of the season, but it was well worth the wait.

First, the New York Giants took on the New Orleans Saints. The Giants offense really stepped up putting up 27 points in the win. Daniel Jones is proving all of his doubters wrong, throwing for 402 yards and two touchdowns. Saquon Barkley looks fully healthy with 126 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Also, Kenny Golladay looked good catching six of seven targets for 116 yards. They have a tough couple of weeks coming up, so let's see if they are for real.

Also, the New York Jets got their first win of the season against the Tennessee Titans. It did help that the Titans were missing their top two receivers, but a win is a win. Zach Wilson played well in this game, with 297 yards and two touchdowns. This was his best QB rating this season with 97.3. Hopefully, this is the start of better days for the rookie.

But it's a new week and it's time to set our lineups.

So let's get started. Here are my picks for FanDuel's Week 5 main slate.

Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers  - $7,700

Herbert has been balling out. In his last two games, he has thrown for seven touchdowns. The weapons around Herbert are elite with Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. The Cleveland Browns are going to be the best defense he has played, but Herbert has been on fire. This is truly an offense versus defense matchup. I going to put my money on one of the best young QBs in the league.

FanDuel outlook:

Herbert is projected for over 20 points by Fantasy Six Pack. In a game where Keenan Allen and Mike Williams were ineffective Herbert still put up over 20 FanDuel points. Herbert will find the open man, and he will exploit the weakness in the Browns defense.

Other QBs I like: Sam Darnold ($7,600), Daniel Jones ($7,400), Trey Lance ($6,900 - if he starts)

D'Andre Swift, RB, Detriot Lions - $6,900

Swift had a bad outing against a good defense. I'm looking for him to rebound this week in Minnesota. The Vikings improved on defense but they can get scored on. Although it is a true timeshare in Detriot with Swift getting 56% of the snaps, he is also getting over seven targets per game.  The Lions haven't been a pushover like we all thought. So look for them to put up some points, and Swift will be a big part of that.

FanDuel outlook:

Swift is projected for over 14 points by Fantasy Six Pack. He is heavily targeted out of the backfield and he gives Jared Goff a good safety valve. Swift is dealing with a groin injury, but he has been playing through it. Both running backs are dealing with injuries, but I don't expect them to miss Week 5. Swift can get into the end zone, which gives him the highest upside.

Other RBs I like: James Robinson ($7,400), James Conner ($6,300), Damien Williams ($5,800)

Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco - $7,700

Samuel has been great his season. He is healthy and it shows. Samuel has been unstoppable, and if the 49ers are going to win this game they are going to need him. The Arizona Cardinals have been winning primarily with their explosive offense. But the defense will give up points. Samuel is coming off a game where he got in the end zone twice. It doesn't matter who is under center for the 49ers, Deebo will be the number one target.

FanDuel outlook:

Samuel is projected for over 14 points by Fantasy Six Pack. With the running game for the 49ers not being as consistent as in the past, Deebo has been getting a lot of looks. Samuel has double-digit targets in three out of four games this season. Deebo is entering Week 5 as the yardage leader amongst pass catchers. If the 49ers are going to beat the Cardinals he is going to have to leave that way also.

Other WRs I like: Diontae Johnson ($7,000), CeeDee Lamb ($6,900), Kenny Golladay ($6,200)

Dalton Schultz, TE, Dallas Cowboys - $6,200

Schultz has taken over as the lead tight end in Dallas. Although Dallas has a couple of great wideouts, Schultz still has 15 targets in the last two games. Schultz has been getting separation in the middle of the field, giving Dak a big target. The Giants offense is playing well, and the Cowboys are going to have to keep up with them.

FanDuel outlook:

Schultz is projected for almost nine points by Fantasy Six Pack. He is part of my favorite stacks of the week. Pairing him with Dak Prescott, and Ezekiel Elliott should win you some money. The Cowboys will be in the red zone a lot in this game. When they get down there Schultz will be a target.

Other TEs I like: T.J. Hockenson ($6,400), Dallas Goedert ($6,100), Evan Engram ($5,300)
