2021-22 NFL Wild Card Weekend Prop Bets – Monday

Welcome back to the 2021 NFL Week 8 Monday Night Football Prop Bets!

We get our first inter-conference matchup between the New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs.

Game Outlook

The Chiefs opened up as 9.5 point favorites, and that has come down to 8.5 points throughout the week. Kansas City is just 4-14 against the spread over their last 18 games and they are coming off their worst offensive outing in the Andy Reid era, only posting three points against the Titans.

Patrick Mahomes was running for his life last week and took a nasty hit towards the end of the game. He somehow managed to avoid a concussion and he will be good to go on Monday Night. Mahomes has not been the superhuman that we have come to know over the last couple of seasons. He is currently tied with Zach Wilson for the league-lead in interceptions with nine.

Both of Mahomes' top two receivers, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, have been battling injuries. Hill has been dealing with a quad injury over the past few weeks has clearly limited his production. Kelce is banged up with a neck injury after taking a bad hit against the Bill back in Week 5. We've also seen his production decline due to the injury as he has not topped 65 yards in three of his last four, something he only did twice in 18 games last year.

2022 F6P Draft Cheat Sheet

Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be held out again this week so Darrel Williams will get at least one more start. He's been the clear lead-back since CEH's injury but has not produced much on the ground other than his two-touchdown performance against Washington. He does get a nice matchup here though as the Giants are allowing 4.5 TPC and 111.6 rushing yards per game. We'll see if the Chiefs will commit to Williams and the run game to try and get this offense back on track.

The Giants are coming off a 25-3 win over the Carolina Panthers. New York has been battling the injury bug all year and this Monday will be no different. Many of their weapons have missed time, but it looks as though some may have a chance to return this week.

Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram were both at practice on Thursday and trending toward playing. Kadarius Toney was a limited participant in practice on Friday, while neither Saquon Barley nor Kenny Golladay was not able to give it a go.

I sure hope Toney can go on Monday night so everyone can see how talented the rookie receiver is. If you haven't gotten a chance to see the kid play, he's going to be a stud.

With Barley out, it'll be Devontae Booker manning the backfield for the Giants yet again. He gets a great matchup against a porous Chiefs' run defense, but the Giants will have to keep it close for Booker to produce anything of note.

The total for the game is currently sitting at 52, the highest on the slate, so Vegas expects a shootout at Arrowhead. Assuming New York gets back some of their weapons, I think we'll see plenty of points being scored.

2021 Season recap:

Player Props - 15-14 (+0.48 units)

Longshots/SGP - 1-15 (-3.01 units)

Overall - 16-29 (-2.53 units)

Week 6 recap:

Player Props - 0-2 (-2.6 units)

Longshots/SGP - 0-2 (-1.5 units)

Overall - 0-4 (-4.1 units)

Well, that was one of the worst NFL games I've ever watched. Geno Smith is atrocious and I'm sorry for ever thinking it was a good idea for taking one of his props (but c'mon what was that game plan by the Seahawks??).

Once again, we miss a SGP by one leg thanks to Alvin Kamara. He only managed 51 yards on 20 carries (2.6 YPC) but destroyed them through the air with 10/128/1 on 11 targets. I was thankfully able to salvage my night hitting his live receiving props multiple times throughout the game. He also fell a yard short from the end zone which was tough to watch considering we had his to score 2+ TDs.

Time to buckle down and get it back this week.

All of my bets will be to win 1 unit unless noted otherwise. (“Risk” 1u on underdogs, “To Win” 1u on favorites).

Daniel Jones - OVER 241.5 passing yards (-115 on DK)

Jones should be welcoming back most of his weapons on Monday night. Shepard and Engram are trending towards a return, while Toney has a chance to play as well. Without Barkly again, the offense will be put on Danny Dimes.

Jones has topped this number in five of seven games while the Chiefs have allowed opposing QBs to top 270 passing yards in five of seven games. The Giants are 8.5 point underdogs so the game script should be in his favor on Monday night.

Patrick Mahomes - OVER 20.5 rushing yards (-115 on DK)

After weeks of this number hovering around 17.5, Vegas is finally starting to catch on. This opened at 21.5 this week and is now down to 20.5. This is a prop that I've hit four weeks in a row and I am going right back to the well even though it's jumped up a couple of yards.

Mahomes has been taking off and running plenty this year. He's ran for at least 26 yards in five straight. Hopefully, Mahomes can keep the streak alive for us this week and make it six straight.

Added 11/1

Darrel Williams - OVER 2.5 receptions (-110 on DK)

Williams has 3+ grabs in three straight games. The Giants are surrendering almost six catches a game to opposing RBs and have allowed a RB to catch at least three balls in each game this year. I'll be looking to hit some of his props in game depending on how the game starts out.

Kadarius Toney- OVER 48.5 receiving yards (-115 on DK)

A bit risky with him returning from an ankle injury that knocked him out of his Week 6 game on the first series. However, prior to leaving the game, he managed to record 36 yards on three catches in just a few minutes of action. Assuming he's able to stay on the field, he should breeze by this number.

Longshots/Same Game Parlay

DK SGP - NYG +20.5 + Jones 225+ pass yds + Jones 15+ rush yds + Mahomes 15+ rush yds + Williams 5+ rec yds + Booker 5+ rec yds (+500) 1u to win 5

Final Thoughts

Still waiting on injury news for Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney. The books have not released anything for them yet, and won't until their status is announced, so I will be keeping a close on eye on them.

I will update this page when/if I see anything else that I like. Be sure to check back before kickoff!
