2021 Fantasy Football Week 6 Quarterback Streamers

on

Welcome to 2021 Fantasy Football Week 6 Quarterback Streamers! Before we dive into some of this week’s best plays, let’s get something out of the way…

Oof. Yikes. Ouch. Last week’s streamers did not work out.

Instead of Zach Wilson, I should have recommended Matt Ryan. Taylor Heinicke finally had a bad game against the Saints. I’m going to give myself a pass on Daniel Jones though, he got knocked out with a concussion and didn’t finish the game.

Oh well, on to this week. We have a few good streamers this week, some have been in this column before, others are getting their first appearance.

Our streamers are ranked 16th and below in FantasyPros QB ECR (expert consensus ranking). Most of these quarterbacks will be widely available in leagues.

We’ll find our streamers using a few different tools, such as how many fantasy points per game (FFPG) defenses are allowing opposing to QBs (stats provided by Fantasy Data). We’ll also look at factors other than defenses, such as game script, players returning from injury, and passing metrics to find our guys.

Teddy Bridgewater vs Las Vegas

Teddy Bridgewater has been playing good football. Even last week returning from a concussion, he scored over 18 fantasy points. Aside from his injury game, and the Jets blowout game, he’s scored at least 18 fantasy points a game heading into this week against the Raiders. Season-long, the Las Vegas defense has been stingy, allowing the 9th fewest FPPG to QB’s.

However, they’ve been slipping the last couple of weeks, allowing good fantasy weeks to Justin Herbert and Jacoby Brissett. They did keep Justin Fields in check but I’m not sure that’s as big a deal as it sounds. The Raiders are also suffering through an emotional week after Jon Gruden’s resignation.  I think Teddy should be just fine against the Raiders.

Carson Wentz vs Houston

Wentz hasn’t been on this article before. I’ve almost included him, but not until now. I needed to see what he could do. Frankly, I’ve liked what I’ve seen. He’s taken care of the ball and has actually been pretty good on deep throws, completing 50% of passes 20+ yards downfield for what it’s worth. Wentz has been consistent so far this year, scoring at least 17.9 fantasy points in all but one game so far. And that one game he was playing on two sprained ankles.

He just threw for 402 yards against Baltimore during a tough OT loss. I don’t think he’ll get up to 400 against the Texans. But, are we going to argue and say that the Texans are a better defense than the Ravens? Didn’t think so. With Michael Pittman emerging as the top dog, if Paris Campbell and Mo Alie-Cox can keep up their own recent streaks of production, I like Wentz in this game and in the future.

Mac Jones vs Dallas

I will admit I was hesitant to include Jones this week. He’s been good real football-wise and has been extremely accurate in his throws. He’s just not gotten there for fantasy. However, the Cowboys allow the 7th most FPPG to opposing QB’s, and the Dallas offense can put up points in a hurry. The Patriots will likely need Mac to throw, and hopefully, this game unlocks Jones’ potential upside if he can pair good passing yards with a couple of TDs.

Miami QB “at” Jacksonville

Tua Tagoviloa is close to returning from his rib injury that has kept him out since week 2. He is practicing and is expected to play against the Jaguars in London. However, if he misses, I like Jacoby Brissett vs the Jaguars. Jacksonville has been generous to opposing offenses, giving up the 8th most passing yards in the NFL. The Dolphins defense, by the way, gives up the 7th most. So this could turn into a productive game with each side moving the ball on the other.

That will do it for 2021 Fantasy Football Week 6 Quarterback Streamers. Best of luck and go get the win!

About Garrett Ball

Love me some fantasy football! After having played fantasy football for a few years, I decided to write about my hobby to help others in the fantasy community! The only things I love more than winning fantasy championships are God and my wife and two daughters. But fishing comes close too.
