2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Analytics: Rebounds Streamers For The Fantasy Playoffs

by Michael Gorman

Rebounds streamers might seem easy to find come fantasy playoff time. Still, it’s always good to dig deep when matchups get close in the playoffs. And that is why I present to you my 2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Analytics: Rebounds Streamers For The Fantasy Playoffs.

Per Basketball Reference, Total Rebound Percentage (TRB%) is an estimate of the percentage of available rebounds a player grabbed while they were on the floor. We’ll use this stat to determine the most efficient rebounders.

Leaders in this category include Clint Capela, Jonas Valančiūnas, and Kevon Looney. But those players are obviously on rosters already. So let's see if we can find some other options that might provide some unexpected value in the rebounds category.

2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Analytics: Rebounds Streamers For The Fantasy Playoffs

For the purpose of this article, we’ll be looking for players rostered in fewer than 15% of leagues.

Jalen Duren, C, Detroit Pistons

Duren is No. 10 in the NBA in TRB% at 19.5%. The acquisition of James Wiseman complicates things a bit, but Duren is still getting between 20 and 28 minutes a night.  As long as Wiseman doesn’t push Duren’s minutes into the mid-teens, Duren will be a strong rebounds streamer for the rest of the season.

Schedule note: the Pistons have a back-to-back on April 4 and 5.

Tari Eason, SF, Houston Rockets

Eason is No. 31 at 15.4%. Eason earned plenty of space to play his game and is putting up fantastic numbers as a result. Fellow Rockets wing Jae’Sean Tate is injured and seems likely to sit out the rest of the season. This opens up plenty of minutes for Eason.

Schedule note: the Rockets have a game every other night from Wednesday, March 29 to Tuesday, April 4.

Sandro Mamukelashvili, C, San Antonio Spurs

Mamukelashvili has a TRB% of 14.4 and would be No. 37 in the NBA if he’d played enough minutes to qualify for TRB% rankings. Due to injuries ahead of him on the depth chart, Mamukelashvili has an open runway to 7+ rebounds a night.

Schedule note: the Spurs have a game every other night from Wednesday, March 29, to Saturday, April 8, and they play again on Sunday, April 9.
