2022-23 Fantasy Basketball: Assists Streamers

by Michael Gorman

Assists streamers can be hard to come by during fantasy basketball playoffs. Most assists contributors rank highly in terms of overall value, so there aren't many players with high assists numbers.

Due to this difficulty, it's good to look at some advanced numbers to see which waiver wire contributors can help you down the stretch.

Today, we're looking at AST%, the estimated rate of field goals assisted by a given player while they're on the floor.

2022-23 Fantasy Basketball: Assists Streamers

Tre Jones, PG, San Antonio Spurs

Jones ranks No. 19 in the NBA with an AST% of 30.0. When he plays, he’s a lock for at least five or six assists.

Consider Jones a high-risk high reward player, given that the Spurs are resting their players liberally down the stretch in the race for the first overall pick.

Monte Morris, PG, Washington Wizards

Morris ranks No. 36 with an AST% of 25.9. The Wizards are jockeying for playoff position, and they trust Morris to run the offense.

Morris becomes an especially tantalizing assists streamer because of Bradley Beal’s penchant for sitting out back-to-backs.

Malik Monk, SG, Sacramento Kings

Monk ranks No. 41 with an AST% of 25.1. He has some extra play now while fellow wing Kevin Huerter is injured.

Monk is especially valuable as an assists streamer because he can contribute three-pointers and points on top of his middling assist numbers.

Jaden Ivey, PG, Detroit Pistons

Ivey ranks No. 42 with an AST% of 24.7. Ivey just returned from injury and has had 16 assists in his three games since returning.

Given that Ivey is a core aspect of the Pistons’ future, he’s a resting risk as the season comes to a close. Make sure to monitor his health if you scoop him up as an assists streamer.

Shake Milton, SG, Philadelphia 76ers

Milton ranks No. 59 with an AST% of 20.4. He might not have the most stable role on the team, but if the 76ers lock up a playoff spot that they’re happy with, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see James Harden rested down the stretch.

If Harden or Tyrese Maxey sit for any length of time, make sure Milton is on your team.
