by Brian Dailisan

Hello Fantasy Basketball Junkies! Welcome to the 2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Week 15 Waiver Wire.

If you want the best waiver wire options, you have arrived at the right place. We will give you a list of free-agent players you need during week 15.

The focus will be on players that are roughly less than 40% owned in Yahoo leagues, with some over 40% that you will need to check your league's availability.

I will keep each waiver wire column focused on new names, only touching on previous players if they are still widely available.

Take a moment to read Mark's Fantasy Basketball Weekly Planner too! He goes over the upcoming NBA schedule and highlights players and teams to target/avoid.

Alex Caruso, PG/SG, Chicago Bulls (41% owned)

Alex Caruso's numbers over the last four games have been respectable: 7.8 PPG, 1.0 3PG, 5.0 RPG, 4.3 APG, 3.0 SPG, and 1.3 BPG. Although his scoring average isn't particularly impressive, his all-around performance places him in the top 40 in nine-category leagues during that period. In addition, Alex Caruso's value increases dramatically in punt points setup, where he is ranked 17th in that span.

Alex Caruso is an excellent stream in Week 15 due to the Chicago Bulls' fantastic schedule. They will play four easy games in the upcoming week. The Chicago Bulls will play back-to-back against the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers on Monday and Tuesday. Following that, they will face the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday. Lastly, they will wrap up the week against the Orlando Magic on Saturday.

Demar Derozan has returned. Since then, Alex Caruso has been nothing more than a streamer in standard leagues. If I need assists and steals in Week 15, I will add and stream Alex Caruso. However, he is an excellent hold in deeper formats, particularly in punt points builds.

Dennis Smith Jr., PG, Charlotte Hornets (31% owned)

Another ankle injury has put Lamelo Ball out of commission. And while we still don't know when the Charlotte Hornets' star player will return from injury, Dennis Smith Jr. emerges as an excellent stream in standard leagues.

As a starter this season, Dennis Smith Jr. averaged 10.0 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 6.5 APG, and 1.9 SPG. With those numbers, he was the number 80 player in nine-category leagues during that time.

The Charlotte Hornets have the most brutal four-game slate this coming week. They'll play back-to-back games against the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns on Monday and Tuesday. The three-game, four-night stretch concludes Thursday against the Chicago Bulls. They'll play the gritty Miami Heat on Sunday to end the week.

Given that Gordon Hayward has returned to the team, Dennis Smith Jr. has lost some of his value. However, in week 15, add and stream Dennis Smith Jr. if you need assists and steals while you wait for news on Lamelo Ball's injury. While Kelly Oubre Jr. is on the disabled list, he could be a solid hold in deeper leagues.

Patrick Williams, PF, Chicago Bulls (27% owned)

Patrick Williams has returned a top-93 value in nine-category leagues over the previous nine games. Over 31.9 minutes per game, he contributed 12.3 PPG, 2.1 3PPG, 4.7 RPG, 1.6 APG, and 1.1 SPG.

Because of the Chicago Bulls' schedule, Patrick Williams, like our previous recommendation Alex Caruso, emerges as an excellent addition in week 15. The Chicago Bulls have the most favorable schedule in the league next week in terms of ease. They will play back-to-back games against the Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers on Monday and Tuesday. They will then face the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday. Finally, on Saturday, they will go up against the Orlando Magic.

In the coming week, add and stream Patrick Williams. He'll give you a nice boost in threes and steals. There is little upside right now because DeMar Derozan is already back, but Patrick Williams' role is pretty secure.

Naz Reid, C, Minnesota Timberwolves (33% owned)

Naz Reid has started seven games this year, averaging 15.4 points, 1.4 three-point goals, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 26 minutes per game. Due to his groin injury, Rudy Gobert is still sidelined. So, in week 15, Naz Reid becomes an excellent streaming option.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the best upcoming schedules, with four games, including a lovely stretch of three games on four nights, which could be helpful for streaming purposes. They'll kick off the week with a matchup against the Houston Rockets. They then have a Wednesday matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. Lastly, they have a back-to-back against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings on Friday and Saturday to round out the week.

If you need a big man, add Naz Reid in week 15. He will be a decent hold until Rudy Gobert returns because he will provide a nice boost in several ways: field goal percentage, points, rebounds, and blocks.

Here are some players who might also be relevant in the upcoming week:
