2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Week 2 Waiver Wire

Hello Fantasy Basketball Junkies! Welcome to the 2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Week 2 Waiver Wire.

If you want the best waiver wire options, you have arrived at the right place. We will give you a list of free-agent players you need during week 2.

The focus will be on players that are roughly less than 40% owned in Yahoo leagues, with some over 40% that you will need to check your league's availability.

I will keep each waiver wire column focused on new names, only touching on previous players if they are still widely available.

Jalen Duren, PF/C, Detroit Pistons (47% owned)

The 22-23 NBA season's 13th overall pick is off to a strong start. Jalen Duren has only played 20.9 minutes a game thus far, but he's averaging 9.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks.

In 9-category leagues, his subpar free-throw shooting forced him to drop to 185th place. But in a punt FT% setting, he is closer to the top 100. To have an impact, he merely needs to play in the low 20s. Add him now.

Walker Kessler, PF/C, Utah Jazz (44% owned)

Although the former Auburn standout is starting the season off the bench, he is making the most of every chance. Walker Kessler is averaging 9.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game in his first two games while shooting an astounding 87.5 percent from the field.

In 9-category leagues, Walker Kessler is now ranked 129th, and in the punt FT% setup, where he is currently ranked 58th, he is a beautiful fit. With four games and two matches against the Houston Rockets in week two, Utah will have one of the most fantastic schedules. He will be valuable right away and is a great stash as well.

Patrick Beverley, PG/SG, Los Angeles Lakers (21% owned)

In nine-category leagues, Patrick Beverley currently offers a top 100 value. Thanks to his defensive stats of 3.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game.

In specific builds, Beverley will be an excellent addition. For example, he ranks 64th in punt points and top 63 in punt FG%. Even though the Los Angeles Lakers only have three games scheduled for week two, we shouldn't avoid Beverley.

Jaylen Nowell, PG/SG, Minnesota Timberwolves (4% owned)

Despite only playing 18.9 minutes per game, Jaylen Nowell averages 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 3-pointers per game while shooting 52.0 percent from the field.

With four games, including three against the San Antonio Spurs, the Minnesota Timberwolves week two schedule is quite appealing. In light of this, Jaylen Nowell is a fantastic streamer for the coming week which is more appropriate for deep leagues.

Here are some players who might also be relevant in the upcoming week:
