2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Week 7 Waiver Wire

Hello Fantasy Basketball Junkies! Welcome to the 2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Week 7 Waiver Wire.

If you want the best waiver wire options, you have arrived at the right place. We will give you a list of free-agent players you need during week 7.

The focus will be on players that are roughly less than 40% owned in Yahoo leagues, with some over 40% that you will need to check your league's availability.

I will keep each waiver wire column focused on new names, only touching on previous players if they are still widely available.

Take a moment to read Mike's Fantasy Basketball Weekly Planner too! He goes over the upcoming NBA schedule and highlights players and teams to target/avoid.

Jose Alvarado, PG, New Orleans Pelicans (10% owned)

CJ McCollum of the New Orleans Pelicans has entered health and safety protocols and could be out for some time. As a result, Jose Alvarado will have another chance in the next week or so.

Jose Alvarado averaged 9.8 points, 1.8 3-pointers, 2.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.8 steals in 26.9 minutes as a starter this season. In week 7, the New Orleans Pelicans will play four games. They will have one of the easier schedules, with games against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs. Jose Alvarado is an excellent stream for owners looking for help in the assists and steals categories. Add Jose Alvarado in week 7, and keep an eye on CJ Mccollum's news.

Thaddeus Young, PF/C, Toronto Raptors (36% owned)

With Pascal Siakam still out due to a right adductor strain, Thaddeus Young stepped up for the Toronto Raptors. Thaddeus Young averaged 11.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game while shooting 58.8% from the field and 87.5% from the free throw line. Those figures are enough to place him in the top 50 of nine-category leagues.

The Toronto Raptors will play four games in week 7. They face the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New Orleans Pelicans in the first half of the week. Following that, they will play back-to-back games against the Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic on Friday and Saturday. Thaddeus Young will be an excellent stream and a nice hold until he returns to the bench. He will help in a variety of areas (field goal percentage, rebounds, steals, and out-of-position assists)

Alec Burks, PG/SG/SF, Detroit Pistons (31% owned)

Alec Burks has been on a roll lately. In his last five games, he averaged 19.0 points, 2.8 3-pointers, 2.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals. Alec Burks also shoots 86.1% from the free-throw line on 7.2 free-throw attempts despite playing only 21.2 minutes per game.

The Detroit Pistons desperately need offensive power, with Cade Cunningham still out with a shin stress fracture. Furthermore, Jaden Ivey appear to be injured. As a result, veteran Alec Burks could be in line for a more significant role.

In week 7, the Detroit Pistons will play three games, two of which will be against the New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies. Alec Burks will be an excellent stream for those looking for points and an increase in FT%. Furthermore, he will be a good hold if his usage rate remains at 32.2%.

Deni Avdija, SF/PF, Washington Wizards (28% owned)

Deni Avdija has averaged 11.6 points, 1.3 3-pointers, 6.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.0 blocks in the last eight games. These numbers only place him in the top 130 of nine-category leagues.

With four games in week 7, the Washington Wizards have one of the most favorable schedules. They will face the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Brooklyn Nets, the Charlotte Hornets, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Bradley Beal has returned, limiting Deni Avdija's value. Despite not being a great fit in nine-category leagues, the latter is still a good addition in the coming week because he can help with rebounds, assists, and defensive numbers.

Here are some players who might also be relevant in the upcoming week:
