2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Week Waiver Wire

Hello Fantasy Basketball Junkies! Welcome to the 2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Week 9 Waiver Wire.

If you want the best waiver wire options, you have arrived at the right place. We will give you a list of free-agent players you need during week 9.

The focus will be on players that are roughly less than 40% owned in Yahoo leagues, with some over 40% that you will need to check your league's availability.

I will keep each waiver wire column focused on new names, only touching on previous players if they are still widely available.

Take a moment to read Mike's Fantasy Basketball Weekly Planner too! He goes over the upcoming NBA schedule and highlights players and teams to target/avoid.

Walker Kessler, PF/C, Utah Jazz (48% owned)

Walker Kessler has averaged 11.0 PPG, 9.5 RPG, and 2.5 BPG in his last four games while shooting 90.5% from the field in only 21.7 minutes of action. Those figures put him in the top 30 of nine-category leagues. Walker Kessler was more valuable in the punt FT% setup, ranking 25th.

Week 9 is a lousy week to stream Walker Kessler. The Utah Jazz face one of the most challenging schedules in the coming week. They will only play three games, twice against the New Orleans Pelicans and once against the Milwaukee Bucks.

However, we are still adding Walker Kessler due to his outlook for the rest of the season. We want to recognize a player with such high potential in FG%, Rebounds, and Blocks. We should aggressively target him if we are punting FT%.

Caleb Martin, SF/PF Miami Heat (43% owned)

Caleb Martin has averaged 14.3 PPG, 2.4 3PG, 5.1 RPG, 2.0 APG, and 1.1 SPG in 36.4 minutes per game over his last 14 games. Those numbers put him in the top 59 of nine-category leagues during that period.

Caleb Martin made our waiver-wire list once more because he is still widely available, and the Miami Heat has the best Week 9 schedule. They will play four games this week, two of which will be against the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs. They also have a back-to-back on Wednesday and Thursday, which may allow Jimmy Butler to rest.

If you need help with points, 3-pointers, rebounds, and steals in week 9, feel free to add and stream Caleb Martin. If Jimmy Butler takes the night off, Caleb Martin becomes a must-start.

John Konchar, SG/SF Memphis Grizzlies (22% owned)

Desmond Bane will be out for another 3-4 weeks with a toe injury. As a result, John Konchar will still be usable until the end of the year.

In his last 12 games as a starter, John Konchar has averaged 10.1 PPG, 1.6 3PG, 7.3 RPG, 1.7 APG, and 1.3 SPG in 30.6 minutes per game. He was ranked in the top 70 of nine-category leagues during that time.

Stream John Konchar if you're in a deep league. He's not a must-starter, but he'll help with rebounds and steals until Desmond Bane returns.

Naji Marshall, SG/SF New Orleans Pelicans (6% owned)

Naji Marshall has averaged 12.3 PPG, 1.8 3PG, 3.8 RPG, 3.0 APG, and 1.5 SPG in 26.3 minutes of action over the last four games. Those figures were good enough to place him in the top 60 of nine-category leagues during that period.

The New Orleans Pelicans don't have the best schedule in Week 9. They will only participate in three games, where they will face the Utah Jazz twice and the Phoenix Suns once.

On the other hand, Naji Marshall has demonstrated that he can contribute when given a chance. If you're in deep leagues, keep streaming him. Until Brandon Ingram and Herbert Jones return from injury, Naji Marshall will help in 3-pointers, rebounds, and steals.
