2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Week 15 Weekly Planner

Welcome back to the 2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Week 15 Weekly Planner! I hope that we are sitting on top of our fantasy hockey leagues at this point in the season. As we head into a new week, what can we look forward to?

Week 15 is set to feature a clash between the two best records in hockey when the Toronto Maple Leafs meet their rivals in Boston. The Leafs got the best of the B's in their first meeting back in November, but will they be able to repeat things Saturday? The Bruins will look for revenge, and will also try to avoid their first losing streak of the campaign. Their home point streak recently came to an end at the hands of the Kraken, and they will look for a quick bounce back!

Thursday, we will also see a great matchup between the New Jersey Devils and the Seattle Kraken. Both teams are off to unexpected starts to the season, and they are sitting comfortably in playoff positions. The Devils will look to improve on their 15-2-1 away record when meeting Seattle, who are returning home following an extended road trip. On their road trip, the Kraken impressively won six straight games against some of the league's top talent.

What else do we have to look forward to throughout the week? Let's find out in the 2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Week 15 Weekly Planner.

2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Week 15 Weekly Planner

January 14, 2022 - January 20, 2022

Top Targets

Pheonix Copley, Goalie, Los Angeles Kings (54% Rostered)

Is your fantasy team looking for a new goalie option? If so, look no further than 30-year-old Pheonix Copley who may be the new starting goalie for the LA Kings.  If you haven't heard much about Copley yet, he is off to a 12-2 record in net with a 2.59 GAA and a .904 save percentage through those 14 starts. For the foreseeable future, look for Copley to continue carrying the bulk of the workload in net for the Kings as Jonathan Quick sits in as the backup.

K'Andre Miller, Defense, New York Rangers (45% Rostered)

If you are able to find a red-hot K'Andre Miller as a free agent in your fantasy league, you have to give him a look! Miller is actively riding a five-game point streak registering three goals and four assists, and he is playing the best hockey of his young career. As of now, he is second on the team in TOI per game while also getting some time on the powerplay. There is no better time to buy stock in this 22-year-old Defenseman that is only going to get better.

Evan RodriguesLeft Wing/Right Wing, Colorado Avalanche (17% Rostered)

An unsung hero of this year's Colorado Avalanche team has been the play of Evan Rodrigues. Although they are still dealing with a number of injuries, Rodrigues has been able to fill a hole in the lineup and currently sits on the team's first line. He has registered nine points over his last seven games (three goals and six assists) and has been consistently on the score sheet as long as he's on the ice. Expect his TOI to stay high while also getting a lot of powerplay time for the foreseeable future!

Eeli Tolvanen, Left Wing/Right Wing, Seattle Kraken (8% Rostered)

After being the victim of the healthy scratch for most of the season in Nashville, Eeli Tolvanen has found a new home in Seattle after being claimed off of waivers. Tolvanen was formerly looked at as the Predators' top prospect, but it'll be the Seattle Kraken that will get to reap the benefits of his play. Tolvanen has found instant success in his new home, as the 23-year-old has recorded four goals and two assists in his first seven games. Although Tolvanen can be found on the team's third line for now, he is being given powerplay time and will be considered a valuable piece for the Kraken as they continue their dominant play this season.

Injury Alerts

Max Pacioretty, Left Wing, Carolina Hurricanes

After making his long-awaited return to the ice following an Achilles injury, Max Pacioretty looks to be out once again. The 34-year-old made his season debut on January 5th and has since played in four games with his new team in Carolina. He has found the back of the net three times in those four games but had to leave the ice during Thursday's game. It doesn't appear that the injury is connected to his previous one but the team is labeling it "lower body". We hope that this is a good thing for Max and he returns to the ice soon!

T.J. Brodie, Defense, Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto's backend has been depleted for most of the season, and now losing T.J. Brodie will do them no favors. The Leafs' top RD was ruled out of Sunday's game with an undisclosed injury and went on to miss the remaining two games throughout the week. Toronto has added him to the injured reserve list with a rib injury and is expected to miss some time moving forward.

Roope Hintz, Center, Dallas Stars

A key piece of Dallas' success this year has been the play of Roope Hintz. Unfortunately for the Stars, they might be without him for the time being. Their second-leading scorer left Sunday's game after only 5:35 of ice time and did not accompany the team on their trip to New York. The team hasn't announced the severity of his upper-body injury, but we hope that this isn't anything long-term.

Mark Stone, Right Wing, Vegas Golden Knights

After registering only 3:57 of ice time on Thursday, the Golden Knights saw captain Mark Stone leave the ice with an upper-body injury. It wasn't clear what caused Stone to leave the game, but the team hopes that this won't be anything too serious. Look for further updates on Stone, who we have seen miss some serious time in the past due to injuries.

Team Worth Watching This Week

New York Rangers

After coming into the 2022-2023 season as one of the favorites to win it all, the New York Rangers are FINALLY playing like it. It is not like the Rangers have been a bad team so far this year, but they are now showing that they can be one of the more dominating teams in all areas of the ice. Week 15 has them taking on two of the weaker teams that we've seen this season the Montreal Canadiens (Home) and the Columbus Blue Jackets (Away). They will round out their week welcoming in the league's best Boston Bruins, who will be on night two of a back-to-back.

The Rangers are 6-2-2 over their last ten heading into the new week, and we will start to see them make their push to the top of the Metropolitan division.
