2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Week 3 Weekly Planner

Top Targets

Alex Tuch, Right Wing, Buffalo Sabres (60% Rostered)

The hometown kid makes good! The Syracuse native Alex Tuch has had a hot start for the Buffalo Sabres this season, rattling off a hat trick in Thursday's win over the Flames. Tuch is slotted on the top line for the Sabres and has a number of winnable games coming up as they continue their west coast road trip. You can expect the trio of Alex Tuch, Tage Thompson, and Jeff Skinner to continue their hot streak!

Mason Marchment, Left Wing/Right Wing, Dallas Stars (56%)

After coming off of an offseason to forget, Mason Marchment is solidifying himself as a key piece of the Dallas Stars' top six forwards. The 27-year-old forward has totaled six points over the team's first four games, helping the Stars take three of their first four games. The Stars have another four games coming up this week, so look for Marchment to continue finding his name on the scoresheet.

Gabriel Vilardi, Left Wing/Right Wing, Los Angeles Kings (37% Rostered)

After matching his point total from the 2021-2022 season, Gabriel Vilardi is proving that he is a top asset for the LA Kings. Vilardi finds himself leading the team in scoring, with four goals and three assists through the team's first five games. The scoring numbers for Vilardi may not last throughout the entire season, but take advantage of the hot hand while the Kings play a number of winnable games coming up.

Kevin Hayes, Center, Philadelphia Flyers (10% Rostered)

The league's biggest surprise so far has been the early success of the Philadelphia Flyers, and Kevin Hayes has been one of the main contributors so far this season! Hayes has spent most of his Flyers days injured, and he finally looks healthy and ready for a break-out season. A spry 30-year-old Hayes has recorded six assists through the first four games and is hoping to find the back of the net soon. Expect his assist numbers to keep climbing as he centers the first-line pair of Joel Farabee and Travis Konecny.

Injury Alerts

Devon Toews, Defense, Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche's loss on Wednesday also saw them losing on their top-pairing defensemen in Devon Toews. Toews exited the game with an undisclosed injury and the Avs' haven't had any further information on the extent of the injury. Hoping that this is just a short-term injury for Toews, as he is vital to the Avalanche's core.

Nikolaj Ehlers, Left Wing/Right Wing, Winnipeg Jets

The Jets have gotten off to a good start, but look to be down one of their key players. That key player, Nikolaj Ehlers, was a game-time decision heading into Wednesday's game with an undisclosed injury but was later ruled out by the team. It sounds like the injury may have been sustained after a shot block on Monday night, but we hope that Ehlers returns sooner rather than later.

Aaron Ekblad, Defense, Florida Panthers

The injury bug just seems to find Aaron Ekblad year after year, as the Panthers' top defenseman hits Long Term Injured Reserve. The former first-overall pick will miss at least 11 games for the Panthers after being placed on LTIR with a lower-body injury. Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Team Worth Watching This Week

Vegas Golden Knights

Given the goaltending situation heading into the 2022-23 season, who could've seen the Vegas Golden Knights starting the season 4-1? New head coach Bruce Cassidy has the Knights firing on all cylinders so far, and this week features the team playing four games with three being at home. If their "bend don't break" goalie situation continues to hold strong, expect the good times to continue for this Golden Knights team.
