Week 8 has arrived, and we are past the quarter-mark of the season. How does your fantasy team look so far? If you are following along with the 2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Weekly Planner, I would assume things are going extremely well! Let's find out what we have coming up this week.
We have a quiet week on tap for the league, but the week still features a number of key matchups that will be worth the watch! We will see another round of the Devils vs. Rangers rivalry, with both teams playing great hockey recently. The Lightning and Bruins will meet once again, who had a phenomenal 60-minute battle during Week 7 with the B's edging out the Bolts. We will also see two of the top teams in the Western Conference faceoff, as the Stars travel to Colorado to take on the defending Champs.
So let's not wait any longer, and find out who we should keep an eye on this week with the 2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Week 8 Weekly Planner!
2022-23 Fantasy Hockey Week 8 Weekly Planner
November 26, 2022 - December 2, 2022
Top Targets
Jeff Skinner, Left Wing, Buffalo Sabres (43% Rostered)

Talk about a solid Week 7 for Jeff Skinner, who we couldn't recommend enough for your fantasy team right now. The Sabres season continues on in waves of good hockey and bad hockey, but the offense continues to show up. Skinner has seven points in the team's last two games and sits comfortably on the top line with Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson. This line is going to continue to produce throughout the season as long as they remain healthy, so grab this piece of the line while you still can.
Karel Vejmelka, Goaltender, Arizona Coyotes (39% Rostered)
I think this is the first time I have included a goalie during this season, so trust me here. Karel Vejmelka is a great goalie to have on your team when playing fantasy goalie, so pick him up. Yes, he plays for the Coyotes who are near the bottom of the NHL standings. With that, he has faced the eighth most shots amongst goalies this year and has a tremendous save percentage of .916 for such a bad team. Please take my word for it, because Vejmelka will continue to play well while the Coyotes maintain mediocrity.
Vince Dunn, Defense, Seattle Kraken (36% Rostered)

Four points over the last four games land defenseman Vince Dunn on the 'Top Targets' list! When it comes to adding defensemen for fantasy, you will see a lot of people change their D up often. Right now, Vince Dunn is the hot hand back there while even accruing some blocked shots each night. Look to grab Dunn for your team, who is on the ice for the Kraken at least 24 minutes a night.
T.J. Oshie, Center/Right Wing, Washington Capitals (33% Rostered)
A team that has been hit heavily with the injury bug is the Washington Capitals. But they will finally get one key player back in the lineup. T.J. Oshie has been out of the lineup since October 29, and understandably, was dropped from a lot of fantasy teams. I recommend looking for Oshie in free agency as he is back on the Capitals' second line and has recorded one goal and three assists in the two games since being activated from the injured reserve.
Injury Alerts
Travis Konecny, Right Wing, Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers will likely be without their best player this season, as Travis Konecny is expected to be out for the next 10-14 days. Reports note that Konecny is dealing with an upper-body injury and will likely miss at least five games for the Flyers. The team will look for someone to step up in Konecny's absence, as he has contributed 19 points through his first 17 games of the season.
Jordie Benn, Defense, Toronto Maple Leafs
After being forced into the Maple Leafs' lineup because of injuries, Jordie Benn now finds himself on injured reserve for the second time this season. Benn is currently listed as week-to-week by the Leafs with an upper-body injury. And the Leafs' weak backend will need more reinforcements. He may not be contributing to the score sheet in any offensive categories, but Benn has racked up 18 hits and 15 blocked shots over six games so far this season.
Team Worth Watching This Week
New York Islanders

We saw the New Jersey Devils go on a 13-game winning streak and somehow haven't escaped the New York Islanders, who are just a couple of points behind. Week 8 is looking very trouble-free, as the Islanders look to keep their active winning streak going with a number of winnable games coming up with a home-and-home series with the Flyers and the Predators at home. Keep an eye on the Islanders this week, who will keep pushing for that top spot in the Metropolitan division.
